Restaurant La Païka — Restaurant in Thonon-les-Bains

This is one of our absolute favourite sunny-day lunch spots and last run apres ski venues. The restaurant is owned by the same people that run the top-end Hotel Marmotte in the centre of town, guaranteeing a certain level of quality and has an extensive sun-terrace with wide sweeping views down the valley.

It is particularly convenient as a "last-run-of-the-day" stop for anyone staying around Les Perrières or the West side of Les Gets, but worth a detour for lunch if you're coming from elsewhere.

The lunch menu itself has a good mix of mountain staples, done to a high quality, as well as good options for kids (and loads of snow slides around the terrace when they get bored). If you want a real treat, head there on a sunny day and go for something from the outdoor grill with a chilled glass of Rose topped off with one their fabulous dessert-trolley puddings... you may not get much skiing done in the afternoon!

The restaurant can get quite busy at peak times, especially weekend lunchtimes and peak school holidays, so it's well worth booking ahead. The staff can also get a bit overrun on very busy days, but if the sun is shining, that is usually...
