Royal Thonon — Restaurant in Thonon-les-Bains

I had the worst experience at this restaurant, which unfortunately ended with me in the emergency room. We ordered the nems, pad thai, and a curry, and the food was not only disappointing, but dangerous. The nems looked like they had been sitting out for a long time before being hastily fried, and the pad thai was absolutely the worst I've ever had—and I've traveled the world eating pad thai! It is usually one of my favorite dishes, but NOT here... It was literally just plain noodles sitting in water, completely flavorless and bland. The curry was okay, but nothing worth remembering.

While the staff were welcoming and sweet, that did not make up for what came after. I had lunch there, and by the afternoon, I was feeling incredibly sick—so sick, in fact, that I ended up in the emergency room needing a transfusion due to severe food poisoning. I couldn't eat or drink for days without vomiting, and even now, after 1-2 weeks, I’m still seeing doctors and haven’t fully recovered. It’s been a nightmare. Everything is incredible. First of all, the view is truly something, we can see well the lake which is a non-negligible asset. Secondly, the staff is very kind and professional, my friend and I had a very warm welcome each time we ate there. And last but not the least, the food, all aspects of the cooking are mastered from the first course to the desert, even the beverages are on point. Restaurant asiatique sympathique, un peu débordé avec les commandes pendant le service de midi un dimanche où c'était complet. Serveuse un peu insolente du haut de ses 18 ans à peine et croyant tout savoir, mais en fait pas grand chose, oubliant des commandes et remplaçant un plat par un autre, des gambas pour une dorade en argant que c'est aussi du poisson... . Présentation de certain plat frisant le ridicule, poulet thaï dans une bouteille de Bordeaux coupée en deux en suspension grâce à une chaîne dont les maillons étaient soudés ou gambas sur une plaque en ardoise à viande brûlant, que j'ai du enlever de plaque, sinon cela aurait brûlé le peu de sauce en accompagnement qui commençait déjà à sentir le graillon... . Et enfin en prenant le menu le plus cher avec la mention : "choix d'un dessert dans la carte", mais après effectué mon choix et commandé on a fait remarqué que c'était avec supplément. Ma compagne ne voulant pas faire de vague à accepté, pendant que j'étais sorti fumer.
