Le Christina — Restaurant in Toulon

The positive reviews made me test this restaurant. Analyzing the reviews a bit further I found that they are not accurate, for any bad review the owner starts insulting the guest that left the review - a red flag. Regarding the experience: When you enter the restaurant everything looks like it’s had its best days, which in France is not usually a good sign for a restaurant. Menu seemed still interesting ON PAPER with French - Indian fusion cuisine. However when the food arrived it was lukewarm, rice from microwave, flavors extremely bland and actually it was just really not good. We also had the fish and it was amateurish as well. Too bad. The story was inspiring with female chef from India but I can’t taste India anywhere - it’s the most boring food I’ve eaten as long as I can remember (not even properly cooked) and have so many great memories of curries in India or even in France for that matter. Also the waiters made a mistake and the owner just couldn’t own this but starting blaming us - the guests - which is a pity but does not surprise when you read the counter reviews carefully. I would recommend avoiding this place as there are nice other options in the area - don’t be fooled by the nice...

Lecker, sehr empfehlenswert !

Heute (in der Nebensaison) zum Sonnenuntergang in sehr schöner Atmosphäre ein sehr leckeres regionales Abendessen genossen. Vielen Dank für den freundlichen und aufmerksamen Service sowie ein großes Lob an die Köchin ! Es hat alles sehr sehr lecker geschmeckt. Tische nett eingedeckt und schöne Lage am Hafen. Zum Aperitif (Pastis Ricard) gabs ein paar Oliven und Salzgebäck.

Neben regionalen diversen Wein (0,125l für 6,50-8,50€), insbesondere dem Rosé, gibt es auch eine besondere Auswahl regionaler Biere ! "La bas Variose" einer Hausbrauerei aus La Cadiere d'Azur als Weizen (blanche, 0,33l für 6,50 €) und Pils maritime (mit einer Prise Salz) war sehr köstlich! Daneben auch frisch gezapfte Biere vom Fass und weitere Flaschenbiere.

Als Hauptspeise hatten wir den Fischteller "Le maritime" (ca. 22 €) mit Crevetten, Tintenfischringen, Dorade, selbstgemachten Fischbällchen accras und hausgemachter Aioli. Dazu kleine Kartoffeln, Salat und ein kleines Brötchen. Der Teller war am Ende restlos leer gegessen. Es war alles sehr lecker, das allerbeste waren die hausgemachten Accras und die Aioli. Der anschließende gastronomische Plausch mit Köchin und Wirt war herrlich. Die Geheimrezepte schreibe ich hier nicht ;-)

Als Nachspeise hatten wir einen Café Gourmand mit einer Auswahl kleiner Köstlichkeiten wie tarte citron, kleines eclair, Cookie/brownie, creme brulée (12 €) sowie einen Espresso (1,90 €).

Fazit: Hier wird mit Liebe und Leidenschaft gekocht und bewirtet! Sehr empfehlenswert...

Situated in the beautifull harbour of Saint Cyr sur Mer is this lovely little restaurant run by the nicest couple, the owner, an english speaking frenchmen and his north indian wife, who does the cooking. Wonderfull and tastefull menu to enjoy, accompanied by a nice freshly tapped beer or local wine.

Update 2025: The same couple, the same friendly smile and talk. I brought my friend after diving, and we enjoyed a great lovely spicy, ultimo tasty curry. It was great visiting again.
