VietNam Délices — Restaurant in Toulouse

We were here last week. A new discovery when we were in the vicinity. Service was excellent. We were explained what the daily menu consists of. The chef changes the menu each day. This is the first Asian restaurant I have seen in Toulouse or France (except for the gastronomic Asian fusion restaurants or Michelin starred Japanese restaurants) that offers a different dish each day. It's not like a typical Vietnamese restaurants where they are more than 20 dishes on the menu. There are only two set menus here - the Menu of the day at 19 euro and the Degustation Menu at 34 euro. We chose the Menu of the day which consists of starters, dish and dessert. We were delighted with the presentation. We chose the beef and a squid dish for the mains. They were delicious! Excellent accueil plein d'explications passionnées pour la cuisine et le résultat dans l'assiette est à la hauteur : produits frais y compris les herbes aromatiques spéciales (étonnantes), sauces des salades et viandes excellentes, fritures parfaites, décorations soignées des assiettes ... La carte sur ardoise est très limitée, ce qui est un gage de qualité, de fraîcheur et de maîtrise. Nous nous sommes régalé pour moins de 20€ par personne, un véritable exploit. Le restaurant venant d'être repris il y aurait quelques améliorations à prévoir dans le temps : plutôt que de proposer 3 menus fixes sur ardoise, y compris les déserts que je ne prends jamais, il serait plus sympa d'offrir le choix au client de composer son menu entre 3 assiettes d'entrées, 3 plats viande ou poisson, et 2 desserts. Comme dans la restauration de bistrot française la décoration de la salle n'est pas très chaleureuse, tout est blanc du sol au plafond, éclairage direct non cosy, aucune plante et les matériaux qui donnent du cachet sont absents : ni bois, ni pierre, ni...

Found this lovely (wheelchair accessible♿️) restaurant this evening. Cool decor & atmosphere, fab food. Owner was super friendly, great service. He explained the daily menu to us.
