Le Val Joli — Restaurant in Tours

It came recommended by the very friendly lady at the Vouvray Tourism office. Luckily we found a place at lunchtime. Vouvray is a small and most delightful wine village, with such friendly people at the caves and other tasting places.

I wanted to eat something vegetarian (too much meat on offer everywhere), and they actually had a proper veg dish on the menu. Ratatouille and stir-fried radish, spuds and carrots. This is a lovely restaurant of its kind. Excellent service, delicious food, we were promptly served and the value was reasonable for the quality. We paid 60 euros for lunch for 2, 2 courses each with wine and coffee. Food is quite classic in style and very well executed. Would definitely come here again. The ambience is a bit lacking perhaps but it's comfortable...

Restaurant ayant changé de propriétaire. Nous avons été déçus, y ayant amené des amis. La patronne a été charmante et a pris correctement nos volontés de repas. L'assiette de charcuterie s'est résumée à une portion de rillettes, 2 tr.saucisson, un rillon ayant séjourné au réfrigérateur donc trop sec . . . Les plats corrects . . . sans plus. Le service . . . épouvantable car attente motivée par incompétence à regarder correctement les tables ayant fini leurs plats. Débarras des tables ayant fini privilegié par rapport au service à effectuer. Passages trop nombreux de la patronne et du serveur les mains vides et ne pensant pas à débarrasser notre table.
