First of all: we (couple with a 4 y old and a 2y old) state here just 2 nights. And had the room for 4 people.
The hotel/restaurant is a really cool and authentic looking place. 🙌🏼
Pros: THE STAFF! definitely! They are friendly and helpful. Their English is not top notch tho they understand you. (And Google translate can help ofc.)
There is no reception. So you walk into the restaurant and the staff there is also the hotel staff. They walk you up to your room.
Outside next to the restaurant is a steep stairway to (heaven) your room.
Con: the beds can be improved. And for the four person room. There is no airco above where 2 single beds are. So it's quite 🥵 hot. And the stairs to the bed are, again, steep!
If you take your chromecast with you on holiday. There is no chance to use it in the 4 persons room. 😅 the TV is up on the wall and you can't reach.
Last thing... If coming by car. Parking by day is a challenge. There are nog much parking spots on the street. (And in our case the garage a few feet away was also closed due to construction 🚧.
Overall: a fine stay over hotel for passing through. Good food and bakary...
Read moreWe chose this stop-over on the strength of the reviews for the restaurant. The chef is obviously very skilled - our dinner was delicious - a superb meal at a reasonable price.|However, having driven 200 miles on a very warm day we arrived in Luynes at 1600. The rooms aren't available until 1800 when the restaurant staff arrive. We knew this but optimistically thought we could find something to do for two hours on a Saturday afternoon. Luynes is a very pretty town but there is NOTHING to do there on Saturday afternoon. You really do need access to rooms by 1600 at the latest in order to unwind and prepare for the evening. Killing a couple of hours or more after a long trip is not much fun in a sleepy Loire town. The room ( No 1 ) was very well appointed, very clean and spacious. However the advertised Wi-Fi was non - existent , we gave up trying to get connected - does anyone get connected ?|In short, the restaurant is worth a journey but if Wi-Fi is important to you and / or you wish to be in your room before 1800 I wouldn't...
