Saigon Palace — Restaurant in Ussel

So first impressions when we walked in... where is all the food?! The majority of the bain-maries were almost empty. HOWEVER, the hostess was absolutely amazing, as soon as we walked in she asked us what food we wanted and said that anything we want they will cook for us. It was quick to see that the low amounts of food available was down to avoiding unnecessary wastage and not a lack of attention - with the post Covid financial situation, who can blame them? The hostess was extremely attentive and made sure that every time we went up to look at something, if it wasn't available she would get some freshly made in the kitchen. This also meant that the food was fresh and hot. In terms of choice, this was limited but what was available was delicious. Really tasty and perfectly cooked. There is also a wok station where you can choose your protein, vegetable and sauce and they will cook it to order for you.

My wife is a vegetarian and the hostess took the time to go around the room explaining everything that was available for her dietary needs. This included noodles, potatoes, salads, spring rolls and multiple types of vegetables available to cook in the Wok option.

We went as a table of 10 (incl 3 kids) and had 10 buffets and approx 15 drinks and the price came to around 24€/person which we found very reasonable.

The lady who served us was so friendly and accommodating as we wanted some meat free options. We speak little french, and she was so patient with us, even making recommendations. The food was fresh and tasty with lots of fresh veg and herbs. Will definitely...

Ce restaurant ose ne pas comparer une grande ville de celle d'Ussel. A ce moment-là, on ne propose pas de buffet à volonté ou on n'ouvre pas de restaurant, ce qui est encore plus simple. Aucune gentillesse, aucun accueil, et ça ose en plus nous reprendre dans notre attitude parce que l'on est mécontent ? Il est temps que ce restaurant ferme. C'est le plus mauvais endroit auquel je suis allé manger : des bacs peu garnis, à peine tièdes, et de qualité pire que de l'industriel. A fuir de toute urgence. Pour finir, la dame ne répond qu'à ceux qui ont laissé un avis d'insatisfaction et aucun remerciement envers les avis positifs : la preuve que cela en dit long sur cette gérante hautaine et affreusement désagréable. j'ai demandé à l'inspection de faire un contrôle sanitaire....
