On our way back from Legoland with my wife and kids, after many hours of driving, we decided to stop for lunch. We left the highway and started looking around the nearby villages. Almost mission impossible: everything was closed, despite Google Maps saying otherwise (opening hours info doesn’t seem very reliable in France). Just as I was about to give up, I found this restaurant and called: it was open!
It’s a countryside restaurant with plenty of parking space and a playground for kids. It seems to be very popular with locals and not touristy at all. We went for the set menu of the day and a kids’ menu. The food was genuinely delicious, the staff very friendly, and—thank God—all of it under the shade of big trees that made the August heat much more bearable.

We ordered the set meals with three different main courses: chicken, lamb, and beef. The appetizers were excellent. The wine pairing was also just right. But the main courses were very disappointing. After a horribly hot day we could refresh in the tavern’s garden under the beautiful plane trees. Service was very kind and even as a horrible guest with extra wishes the crew was compliant and creative. The food was very good and also plenty.
