Firstly l must say the fish and chips was lovely. The batter crisp and big portions. My only opportunity with the food would be to have one piece of fish and not 2 square portions per person. A man sitting in front of us was smoking so that was blowing over whilst we were eating. As non of us are smokers that wasn't a nice experience The biggest let down was the place itself. Out of maybe 20 tables not one was clean. Had to ask for a table to be cleaned before we could sit down. The gentleman that served us was amazing. Very friendly, polite and helpful. We were sitting outside and the eating areas were littered with rubbish, dirty napkins etc. We looked up and above our table was a chandelier covered in cobwebs spiders and debris. Not nice if it drops down on your food. The salt pot was dirty. Couldn't use it to shake salt as it had sea salt crystals in that wouldn't fit thru the hole. The pot that had our cutlery in had sauce marks on it and we had to wipe our cutlery to use it. The vinegar bottle was tatty. Just didn't make a nice setting to enjoy tasty food. The place needs a refresh and please get rid of the plastic plants and flowers..... Such a shame as we will not...

Roast Sunday Lunch 17,95€ per head, which we were really looking forward to. However, there was an odd taste to the entire meal, I think originating from the lumpy cauliflower cheese with watery béchamel, which has to be the worst I've ever tasted. OMG this has to be by far the BEST Fish and Chips in France AND in the U.K!! And we are from North Yorkshire Whitby area so that’s really saying something!!
