The pork knuckle is huge. Seriously huge, like 3+ fist of mine. Nearly killed me. 9,5/10. It was crispy and crunchy. Brilliant. (We accidentally ordered a whole for me, without acknowledging its size.) The women put the cooked cabbage on a separate plate to not soak the pork. 👍❤️ My partner went deaf after overeating himself and he had to roll me down the hill back to the car. 10/10 we would repeat it.
Not much warm food variety but they are good. There was a cold dish pult aswell with cottage cheese creams and fish aswell.
The spezi is better in München, more orangy, more gradient colored.
The steamed cabbage was splendid. The sweetened cumin cabbage is not my thing. I prefer it fermented, sour, pure.

This place has been around since 1455, and it's a well known secret amongst the Bavarian community.
We came in mid October and despite the mid teens weather the outdoor seating area was open and plenty of people were enjoying the sunny weather. You can drive up to the bottom parking lot (about 30mins from München) or you can take the S-Bahn to Herrsching and hike to the top (about 1.5 hours).
There is a beautiful baroque style church at the top, and a small gift shop where you can buy altar candles as a donation. The church is free to visit and a must see stop.
The restaurant is a typical Biergarten fare, you gave a section for brozeit (cold cuts and breads) and a hot meal session with Pork knee and pork belly. They are charged by weight, but the sides are a fixed price.
The food was delicious, and obviously, the beer is the main attraction here... And it certainly is the star of the...
