The pork knuckle is huge. Seriously huge, like 3+ fist of mine. Nearly killed me. 9,5/10. It was crispy and crunchy. Brilliant. (We accidentally ordered a whole for me, without acknowledging its size.) The women put the cooked cabbage on a separate plate to not soak the pork. 👍❤️ My partner went deaf after overeating himself and he had to roll me down the hill back to the car. 10/10 we would repeat it.

Not much warm food variety but they are good. There was a cold dish pult aswell with cottage cheese creams and fish aswell.

The spezi is better in München, more orangy, more gradient colored.

The steamed cabbage was splendid. The sweetened cumin cabbage is not my thing. I prefer it fermented, sour, pure.

There was a waiter with a huge afro, he made me smile. He was constantly smiling. He seemed to enjoy his job and being there. Marvelous. Loved it. This huge hallway eating with 100++ people really impersonates everything, and there were many people eating. Barely free table inside. Outside almost no one. It was raining. But the guy's huge hair and constant smile really raised the...

A Bavarian Gem!

This place has been around since 1455, and it's a well known secret amongst the Bavarian community.

We came in mid October and despite the mid teens weather the outdoor seating area was open and plenty of people were enjoying the sunny weather. You can drive up to the bottom parking lot (about 30mins from München) or you can take the S-Bahn to Herrsching and hike to the top (about 1.5 hours).

There is a beautiful baroque style church at the top, and a small gift shop where you can buy altar candles as a donation. The church is free to visit and a must see stop.

The restaurant is a typical Biergarten fare, you gave a section for brozeit (cold cuts and breads) and a hot meal session with Pork knee and pork belly. They are charged by weight, but the sides are a fixed price.

The food was delicious, and obviously, the beer is the main attraction here... And it certainly is the star of the...

We took a day Trip from Munich and walked the lovely trail up Here. AMAZING walk and especially rewarded with some delicious food! A friend recommended the pigs knuckle. So, that is what we Ordered! It was huge! Ordered sauerkraut and german potato salad (of course!) all delicious! Shared with my Friend. He said the skin of the pigs knuckle tasted like the best bacon he has ever had. I don’t usually eat bacon but had to try And give it a thumbs up. I did buy a beer glass to take home. You can buy at the beer window. Everyone was very Friendly and the views were spectacular. Air was so clean and clear skies. Beautiful day / Evening! Would absolutely go here again and hike the trail up!!!! It is a must do. And, it seems pet friendly Too because we saw some Very Cute pups 🐶 walking around...

A solid drive from Munich and near a beautiful lake. A large monastery campus with great views and a large outdoor seating area. Inside is a bit dark. Cafeteria-style ordering system for food (hot and cold separately) and beer, with beer being an efficient operation. They don't make a bad beer so you can't go wrong with anything but their Weizen and Helles were particularly tasty. Try their speciality sausage and have them warm it up. Very good with one of their massive pretzels. Much more touristy than I expected but very much worth the trip to experience this special place.
