English Pub The Red Lion — Restaurant in Bad Iburg

We’re two Americans staying in the area for a vacation and love this place! First impression was how nice the staff was to us with our ten words of German. The chef in the kitchen is British and makes the typical English dish something special. Salads were fantastic and all of the standard dishes like the fish and chips were delicious. Prices are great, food and drink selection are excellent. This pub has a lovely, comfortable old time atmosphere with a fireplace and gorgeous bar. There’s live music on Friday. Me and my friends were having a heck of a time. Until we heard a loud yell. I turned my head towards the yelling. In shock I suddenly saw 4 drunken men standing on the bar singing a song. If I remember right it was “Drunken Sailor” . We tried to ingnore it😬. But it was very hard🥲. My order was up I heard, went to the bar and saw my onion rings were fully mashed in to bits. I was very upset 😠. One of those drunken people was standing on my food 🙄. And the worst about it is. The bar tender was laughing and was pouring cups with a 50L “show” bottle, Totally a bad place to be with...

Corona hat das Red Lion sehr heftig beeinflusst. So war am Wochenende jeden Tag die Hütte voll und auch in der Woche , wenn der Ball rollte, ein großartiger Treffpunkt. Aber auch die TV-rechte und eben Corona machten ein Übertragen unmöglich. Und somit komme ich persönlich irgendwie gar nicht mehr IN das Lokal. Über Facebook bekommt man aber mit, dass es viele viele Highlights gibt's , wie z.B. St. Patricks-Day oder zuletzt 111 Jahre Titanic. Klasse. Stuart lässt sich da immer wieder was schönes einfallen.

Der andere, von mir meist genutzte Punkt, der von Corona beeinflusst wurde, ist das Anbieten eines Lieferservices. Ich sage immer wieder: Iburgs beste Burger. Die Auswahl dieser ist vielleicht gering. Aber solange es den Londonburger gibt und ich diesen mit Spiegelei bekomme (Tipp von mir ;) !) brauche ich auch nichts anderes. Nirgends woanders bekomme ich Mangocurry Creme zu Nachos. Sehr lecker. Und immer wieder bekomme ich Gäste und schlage das Red Lion als Möglichkeit vor, Essen zu bestellen. Und alle waren sie hellauf begeistert. Das sind die ca. 50 Minuten...
