The Cowshed - Mountain Inn — Restaurant in Bad Schandau

If I could give less than one star, I would. In June 2023, after a solo hike in the mountains and almost getting lost a few times, I was practically starving and in need of water. I wanted to sit down and have a meal but I was denied by a fellow wearing a kilt and a flat cap. He pretended that he didn't understand English and treated me, not like a customer, but almost like a beggar. Despite me looking clearly distressed and trying my best to politely communicate with him, he told me to wait after ordering a bottle of water then just left. He was even angry that I tried calling a lady who I saw in the small shop to get served. When I asked him if I could order a meal, he claimed the restaurant was closed even though I could clearly see people eating there. Had the pasta with tomato sauce and a bockwurst. Would be unfair to call it food.

The pasta was cold and not freshly cooked which gave it this slimy taste. The sauce tasted like something out of a can. And cold. Price for the pasta was astonishing 12 €.

The sausage was also cold and full of water - probably from being cooked hours before and stored. 7 € for the sausage with a brötchen …

Level of cooking among the worst I have experienced - and...

An jedem Parkplatz und ständig unterwegs, sieht man Schilder auf der eindeutig steht, dass auch am 10.02.2024 geöffnet ist, schön wenn auf der Internetseite was anderes steht, zumal man auch nicht überall Internet auf dem Handy hat, aber dann müssen auch die Schilder entfernt werden. Gefühlt kamen alle 5 Minuten Leute zum Gasthaus und standen dann enttäuscht vor verschlossener Tür. Ebenso sagten dann schon ständig Leute auf den Wegen, dass zu sei.

Dann hängt doch einfach nicht überall Schilder auf, wenn Ihr nicht geöffnet habt oder nehmt Sie wieder ab.

Dann schreibt doch, wie Ihr habt, darauf, dann man die Öffnungszeiten auf der Internetseite in der Winterzeit erlesen kann, aber schreibst nicht feste Termine mit drauf, wo dann keiner da ist, sehr enttäuschend und dabei haben wir nun nichtmal dort gegessen, aber ich denke das spare ich mir...
