I took a wrong train and ended out in Baumholder, Germany at night without speaking the language. Through the help of an American military family on the same train who happened to be from the area. I was able to find this hotel. The Mrs. (owner) of the hotel not only speaks English but also kindly offered me a very comfortable room in a very decent price. She also gave me a ride to go to the train station in the second morning. Now I am safely back to the United States. I would like to show my gratitude here for their help and kindness. It is a nice hotel restaurant combination with cozy local environment, the best of all, they are people with kindness and friendship. Also, you can always contact the hotel in English. I would definitely recommend people to stay in the hotel if you need to be in Baumholder. The town itself is very small, built in the 12th century. Besides military training ground, bars, tattoo shops, there could not be a major tourist attraction. P.S. The people seemed very nice.This was first time eating here. I had heard alot of good things about the food. My wife wanted to eat there for Thanks giving. A few thing upset me about my visit. First of all we were the only family in the resturant. So, why did the people that came in after us get their food first. Secondly, I'm a cook not a chef but i know what well done means. All of our meat was under cooked. Two steaks medium well and a cut of pork. Yes i said (PORK!!!!!). Don't take my word for it look up what happens when you eat undercooked pork. Called in here a few years ago but they were fully booked. They were incredibly helpful at the time, so always wanted to go back.||We went in early September 2014. What a fabulous place. Not the most luxurious place we have ever stayed but not the most luxurious price either.||The steaks we ate in the evening were quite simply the best we have ever eaten any where in the world! The breakfast was spectacular in its size and quality. The staff were incredibly helpful and friendly. ||100% recommended.||Can't wait to go back.
