Blaue Traube — Restaurant in Berching

We choose this hotel for a half yearly get-together with some friends after looking online for a place in Berching that is pet friendly and has internet connection in the guest rooms. ||Even though the rooms are rather small, they are clean and decorated functional and comfortable. The newly renovated bathrooms have towel warmers, which is a welcome feature, just like the pleasant indirect lighting directly over the beds. The breakfast room is bright and nice to sit in. The breakfast buffet is rather basic, but special requests were fulfilled immediately.||For single travelers staying more than 2 nights, I recommend booking a double room for single occupancy, as the single room I stayed in was a bit noisy, very small and rather dark. The double room I moved into after a few days (thank you to the owner for immediately listening to my concerns!), was much better, very quiet and bright.||There is no lift in the hotel, but the staff was very helpful moving our luggage up and down the stairs.||The internet was unsecured, very slow and working only sporadicly. I would recommend using a password protected connection for guests, so unauthorized users could not slow down the connection. ||All things considered, the Blaue Traube is a good value for the prices charged, so I will gladly stay in there for my future visits in this picturesque...

Berching is a walled town that dates from 883. Finding somewhere to stay was not so easy though. We booked here by emailing the owners. Berching could do so much more to promote how lovely it is.||It's a traditional high roof building with absolutely ancient wooden doors and surrounds. Downstairs it’s a typical bar/dining room complete with a stammtisch. Our room was large, rustic clean and well decorated with a beautiful hidden bar of above bed lighting. The bathroom was equally clean. We had a view out over the front of the building into the cobbled streets below.||The Gashof staff only spoke German, but were helpful and considerate. The WiFi is EUR 1 per hour after an initial 1 hour kostenlos (free).||Breakfast was very good with a good selection of meats, eggs, breads,...
