I know in this world you can't just have great restaurants because the i wouldn't have the money to go eat outside so we need some casual restaurants and that is fine!Although coming from a kitchen environment i can see the quality of preparation and food, the dedication as most izlmportant, service was great, i ordered myself a margarita apparently on ice in a coupe probably prebatched, a bit sweet but definitely drinkable not a cheap tequila I presume ! The food although, i got some taquitos as a starter, they were not what I expected, some pasta foil with some marinated chicken inside rolled up and deep fried, by taste was not bad but still just a foil of pasta and chicken with some dips, really nothing special, i took some tacos and my friend took some chicken, well the chicken was swimming in some cream sauce, an exaggerate amount to be honest, more doesn't mean etter, my tacos were too much for the amount of piadinas (3)i had, the beaf meat dry aged I suppose wich i don't think is appropriate, perhaps was frozen or used in a broth, and reused still pretty tough. As i mentioned is a casual restaurant, but the prices are too high for the quality!I read that they have all you can eat events Wich fits the place, service was great! But i don't have a lot of time on my hands(i do for writing the review apparently) but i would not come again, maybe in a few months, probably is the after corona crisis and...
Read moreTHIS IS NOT MEXICAN FOOD!!!!! I recently visited El Buen Gusto hoping for an authentic Mexican dining experience but I am in Germany so it’s not a huge shock to be disappointed. For starters the name is not a correct name in Spanish for a restaurant. The dishes on the menu don’t resemble traditional Mexican food in any way whatsoever. The flavors were strange and lacked the vibrant spices and freshness typical of real Mexican cuisine.
The tortilla soup was tomato soup with a glob of guacamole in it not even close to true tortilla soup, the fajitas, taquitos and burritos could not be described as to true Mexican food every single item was very very very poorly executed. Also they do t even know what a quesadilla actually is! The enchiladas also had no resemblance to a real enchilada. It’s clear that the chefs have zero understanding or knowledge of what authentic Mexican food tastes like or what techniques and ingredients are correct.
On a positive note, the service was friendly and the atmosphere was inviting. The decor had a nice vibe, creating a cozy setting for a meal. However, I found myself wishing I had chosen a different place to satisfy my cravings for genuine Mexican flavors. If you’re seeking authentic cuisine, I recommend...
Read moreI ordered here yesterday and I can still taste the onion this morning. I had the quesadillas which came as a kind of deconstructed quesadilla, with the tortilla separate to the cheese, duck and onions in the sauce, so you had to fill it in like a wrap. There was so many onions in the sauce. We also got nachos, of course with a ton of onions on top of it, then the accompanied guacamole, that didn't taste of avocado, but - you guessed it - onions. The duck itself was very nice texture but way too salty, so was the sauce it came in. The sour cream wasn't sour cream, there was too many spices in there. All in all there was too much going on. Mexican food is pretty straightforward, fresh ingredients, lemon, normal sour cream, avocado balancing the taste with a few onions in the salsa, a bit of garlic here and there. Unfortunately I'm going to throw half of the food away as it really was not enjoyable. The reason I chose quesadillas was that it usually is pretty easygoing, like cheese toasties but with tortilla. Instead I got...
