Gutshaus Neukladow — Restaurant in Berlin

We celebrated our wedding here last week and could not have asked for a more beautiful location or more outstanding staff! The venue itself is unpretentious and charming, with lots of space outside to sit overlooking the Havel and is surrounded by a lovely park. This meant not only that our guests oohed and ahhed at the view upon arrival, but also we had plenty of room for tables, food, gifts and lots of activities. We were also able to arrange a big a scavenger hunt in the park which was exceptional! Herr Lackmann and team were wonderful before and during the event itself - in particular when we had major issues with our external caterer, the Gutshaus staff stepped up to provide additional help on extremely short notice. The area is beautiful, such great potential this place has and it looks like they are resting only on this. The food is simple and unsatisfying. The cakes are Metro cakes, and under a different owner in the past, they used to serve homemade ones.

The service, was poor. the incident was while we (3 people) were sitting and having cakes, tea and coffee, the waiter decided to limit our stay by placing a 'Reserved' sign on our table and saying that other people will come to sit here in the next 40 minutes... The place was not full that day and there were plenty of other tables for new comers to sit by them.

Easy to skip this restaurant, just enjoy the view of Wannsee and fresh air, and bring a coffee thermos and...

Mark organized the most superb private dinner in the historical Gutshaus Neukladow. He told the story of the building including the farm history and the interesting fact that Otto von Bismarck's mother lived here while he was chancellor.

We had a beautiful dinner with the fireplace going, drinks on arrival and the showstopper - the lamb. Wow! Easily the best lamb I have had since moving to Germany from Australia (it would simply not be fair to compare Australian lamb).

I look forward to returning throughout the seasons to visit the beautiful spot....
