Kaffee Strudel — Restaurant in Berlin

Four months ago I left a good review on this place, but today I was treated in such a rude and disrespectful manner that I must change it.

My friend and I wanted to have a lunch there. There were no other people and we took a table outside. Nobody noticed us for at least five minutes, and I had to go inside and ask for menus. When the woman brought them, she immediately didn't like that my pram was "blocking" the table on the left. She demanded that we sit at another table because then other people could sit at that table. I tried to argue that if these other people come, they can sit at other available free tables themselves. But of course the comfort of potential not-yet-existing clients was more important to the cafe owner than our comfort. The demand and the way it was articulated seemed absurd and rude to me, but nevertheless we changed the table. Apparently it was not enough for the cafe owner, she threw the menus on the table as she was annoyed at me. (Yes, we are very sorry we dared to come to your cafe and wanted to leave our money in exchange for your food, right.) Then she added in an aggressive manner "Logik, JA?!", implying that I am a stupid mother who doesn't know where to put her pram so it doesn't, god forbid, cause any troubles to some invisible clients. At this point I couldn't stand being treated this way, I was very upset and left immediately. Such disrespect to clients is...

i can’t believe how this place is still in business with how they treat the customers and not improving their behavior despite all these bad reviews, i went there after my walk to sit down and grab a coffee left with worst mood ever, got yelled at in most unnecessary way: I asked to have my coffee there and person at the register asked me where would i sit and i said maybe there pointing an empty small table thinking I’m answering a basic question and she was like yeah i have no spot where are you planning to sit in very hostile way, this behavior is unacceptable and super rude, if you want to ruin your mood and day and get yelled at by person you were just nice to go there oh on top of all that i got wrong coffee after i told them three times i ordered cappuccino, huge...

Familienunfreundlich, da Kinderwagen und damit Babys/Kinder nicht erwünscht sind, obwohl ausreichend Platz vorhanden ist und 0 weitere Gäste im Cafe waren. Das für uns geplante entspannte Frühstück war dadurch erschwert und konnten wir nicht so genießen wie geplant.

Die Alternative wären Kinderhochstühle, aber auch diese sind leider nicht vorhanden, um Babys/Kinder als gleichwertiges Mitglied am Tisch sitzen zu haben. Das wäre eine empfehlenswerte Lösung, wenn die Kinderwagen schon nicht mit ins Cafe dürfen wg Platzmangel. Anstelle dessen musste der Kinderwagen mit dem darin sitzenden Kind in die Ecke geschoben werden. Eine befremdliche Lösung, da ein Durchkommen des Servicepersonals trotzdem möglich gewesen wäre und das Kind "abgestellt" wurde.

Desweiteren wurde bei geöffneter Tür draußen geraucht, so dass der zigarettenqualm ins cafe zog...nicht besonders angenehm während des Essens und dann noch für die Babys.

Da ich vom Fach bin verwundert mich diese Art und Weise. Der Gast ist König und sollte auch so behandelt werden. Aus vergangenen Reklamationen will scheinbar nicht gelernt werden.

Ohne weiter ins Detail zu gehen....mit Kind bzw Baby ist das kein empfehlenswertes Lokal, um sich zu entspannen. Der Kuchen und Kaffee sowie das Ambiente sind ansonsten sehr schön und laden zu einem kulinarischen Erlebnis durchaus ein. Das Servicepersonal ist grds. bemüht, bei unserem letzten Aufenthalt haben wir uns leider nicht so erwünscht gefühlt, wie sonst.

Wir werden uns zukünftig, trotz positiven Erfahrungen ohne Kind, für andere Cafés entscheiden und lieber einen längeren Weg auf uns nehmen, als erneut eine so negative Erfahrung machen zu müssen. Familienfreundlichkeit sollte definitiv größer...
