Masala — Restaurant in Berlin

Service was quick and good.

But the food was honestly terrible. I don't think it's because the UK has a different palate compared to germans for India food. It seems like similar reviews have been placed before.

The food was 100% not fresh and most likely from a jar/tin. The waitress admitted that the chicken was frozen which just leads to more questions abou the quality. Usually an Indian restaurant smells like curry due to it being cooked but this was just microwaved food.

Really disappointing.

You cannot sell microwave curry and not expect bad reviews.

How can you say the food is fresh? Your staff told me the chicken was frozen. Frozen is not fresh.

Your staff also told me that the food is cooked in the morning - which if true, again is not fresh.

If I visit a chinese restaurant - I can smell chinese food.

If I visit a kebab shop - I can smell kebab meat.

I visited your Indian restaurant and I could not smell Indian food being cooked.

This tells me that your food is not fresh or even cooked by you, and most likely from a jar.

I voiced my complaint to your staff when I paid for the meal and she was not interested, she was just bothered about being paid.

I saw your response to previous reviews saying that if there's a problem, we should speak to you before leaving a review. I did mention it to your staff before leaving a bad review but your staff were not interested.

Also, no I don't think I am the smartest person in the world.

I will remove my review if you let me see your staff cooking fresh curry. Which I know...

Came here for food whilst visiting Berlin, seemed to have decent reviews but food was terrible. My curry was thinner than water and the staff do not take constructive criticism well and instead get very defensive. Waitress told my friend and I the food sits there from the morning and that the chicken is from frozen. I think that the food must be microwaved if it has sat there since the morning there is also no aroma of spices or curry beind cooked in the back, the garlic bread was also harder than a rock, I would certainly never come back here again.

reply to masala: We both had the same experience as we attended at the same time on the same day so of course the experience is bound to be similar. We ordered food via ubereats because this was the only place that delivers veg Manchurian and 40 mins later they call us to tell us that they don't work with uber. Lost the money.

Nevertheless, my craving for Manchurian never ended , so ordered personally this time with mix masala starter and masala sizzler and the food was bad . It was very oily , we had to throw away the complete masala sizzler and chicken based starter because the meat was uncooked/ partially cooked. Even the Manchurian balls were not properly fried and could taste raw vegetables. Oh and we could also taste raw garlic on our garlic naan.
