Zeitenträumer — Restaurant in Berlin

I came here to have a coffee and work before taking my intercity train. When I entered the cafe, there was only one customer and I asked the owner if it is ok for me to use my laptop, then leave in an hour (as I have to catch my train). The whole place can take up to 20 people, there are free tables outside, 95% chance there wont be many more people in the cafe on Wednesday 3 pm. He said the cafe is too small to be a working space?! I really do not understand why he chose to let a customer go instead of being nice and try to find a solution. If the cafe is fully empty, a customer is a customer. He could as well offer the outside tables if the problem is the 1 customer sitting inside. Unfortunately i take this as a discriminatory act because I was speaking English....

War mit den Kindern da. Wir haben alle ein Eis bestellt. Das angebotene Eis ist Paletas-Stileis. Soweit, so gut. Das Eis kam. Scheinbar war es bereit mind. einmal zuvor aufgetaut, denn alle drei Eis waren umhüllt von einer dicken Eisschicht, durch die man sich erstmal durcharbeiten musste. Kühlkette? Als ich die Rechnung sah, war ich schon etwas erstaunt, dass für Eis solcher Qualität 3 EUR aufgerufen werden. Aber gut, support your local Eckcafé, ich habe auch noch großzügig Trinkgeld gegeben. Zum Ende hin hat mein Sohn leider an einem Tisch gezogen, so dass ein Aschenbecher aus Glas zu Boden fiel und genau an der Stelle, wo die Einkerbung für die Zigarette ist, platze eine kleines Stück ab. Nicht scharfkantig, fiel kaum auf. Mit Sicherheit kann er weiter benutzt werden. Daraufhin kam der Wirt zu mir und hielt mir sein offenes Portemonnaie hin, so nach dem Motto: das bezahlst du bitte. Ich warf etwas perplex 2 EUR hinein und sagte, dass ich leider nicht weiß, wie "teuer" so ein Aschenbecher ist... er entgegnete daraufhin, dass sie schon um die 1 EUR kosten, gab mir aber keinen Euro zurück?! Versteht mich nicht falsch: wenn mein Kind etwas kaputt macht, dann komme ich selbstverständlich dafür auf. Da muss mir niemand sein Portmonnaie unter die Nase halten, um mich dazu zu bewegen. Außerdem kann mir keiner erzählen, dass in einem Berliner Café ein Aschenbecher entsorgt wird, weil an einer nicht zu erkennenden Stelle ein Stück abgeplatzt ist.

Vielleicht sonst ein nettes Café, aber alles in allem hat der Besuch keinen guten Eindruck bei mir...
