El Greco — Restaurant in Birkenfeld

My husband had called and made a reservation here two weeks ahead of time. From the moment we walked we felt the entire mood change. There were only a couple of people eating in the restaurant along with several staff. We gave our name and were told there was no reservation on the books. My husband asked for them to double check under first and last name. The owner then came out and without even double checking proceeded to raise his voice at us and say there was not a reservation and that there was no table. Very rude service. Unfortunately the mentioned website which was mentioned on maps was not used. But after Googling I found the real website. I wanted to book a table, but we where close to this restaurant and wanted to see if there was a table free. On the websites no sign that this restaurant was closed during the holiday season of July/august. It was on a sign on the door. Missed chance. I would love to taste this delicous foods and reckon, this rating would be somewhat higher, but for not communicating that your restaurant was closed no good...

Leider kann ich die ganzen guten Bewertungen nicht nach empfinden. Ich fand das Essen viel zu fettig. Das war keine Tomatensauce sondern halb Tomatensauce/ halb Öl. Auch das Fleisch viel zu lange gebraten da dadurch war es total trocken und nicht genießbar. Pommes blass, nicht knusprig und total fettig, als wären sie nicht frittiert sondern einfach im warmen Öl gebadet worden.Das Essen empfand ich außer dem Tzatziki sehr fade und hatte kaum Geschmack gehabt. Auf die Frage ob es schmeckte gab ich meine Meinung preis aber darauf wurde gar nicht eingegangen. Andere Restaurants geben dann ein Kaffee oder Dessert aufs Haus. Wir haben es getestet und empfanden es nicht gut und werden auch nicht wiederkommen. Personal war okay, aber es hätte aufjedenfall reagiert werden müssen auf meine Beschwerde hin. Nachtrag 😜 Nach meiner Bewertung wurde mir geantwortet und diese finde ich sehr frech zu behaupten dass ich diese Bewertung als reine böswilligkeit verfassen würde. Spricht für mich für sehr wenig Einsicht 🤷‍♀️ Mein Teller war halb leer da mein Lebensgefährte ein riesen Hunger hatte und er es gegessen hat bevor es in den Müll wandert. Ich selbst habe davon nur paar Bissen gegessen. Ich kenne die griechische Küche und da schwimmt es nicht in öl sodass sich soße und öl trennen auf dem Teller des Gastes.
