Bit of an odd feel about the place - definitely not what we expected. ||Very off-putting to smell cigarettes as soon as we came into reception. The corridors and on occasion our room smelt of cigarettes. As non-smokers, we hate that. ||It was very noisy. I had to sleep with earplugs. Doors closing, noise from the bar, very noisy road outside plus other guests clomping around the room upstairs at 2 am. ||Finally car park wasn't really a proper car park. A couple of doors down through an archway. We were told to park outside two garage doors that had keep clear on them. Only two spaces seemingly for the whole hotel? Arrived on business and have to say i was a little disappointed with the room. This soon faded into insignificance with the warm welcome i recieved from the staff in the restaurant. All of the staff were very very friendly and made you feel so welcome. Then came the biggest surprise of all, The food. WOW is the only word for it. Absolutely amazing. I was Lucky enough with the duration of my stay to be able to try everything on the menu and nothing disappointed from the service, the meal through to the fine farewell at the end of the evening. Made a terrible business trip into a quite pleasurable experience. Definitely will stay...
