This place had us raving to our friends. We only came here on a whim on a long road trip across the country, because "ostrich" is normally not a word you see all that often.

And what a good pick it was. The place was immediately cozy, yet modern, with exemplary service - friendly, and fast. The homemade lemonade was a real treat, but the starters blew us away. Both the pumpkin soup (check seasonal offers!) and the ostrich salami & liverwurst platter were incredible.

The expectations were high, but the mains left nothing to desire. Succulent steak grilled to perfection, a juicy burger with a to-die-for chipotle mayo, and ostrich stew with South-African funk that all hit the spot in different ways.

We did try the ostrich currywurst as a joke, and while it absolutely was a great dish, it didn't hold a candle to the other mains. We recommend leaving those "street food" items for later visits, after you had their absolutely inspired and gorgeous presented mains.

Our only regret is, that we are now hundreds of kilometres away. There has been debate about coming back, after looking through our photos of this place again.

PS: There's an somewhat rustic/impromptu outdoor golf range where you can drive some balls across the fields, if you are looking for a fun activity, too. Don't expect meticulously cut perfect greens, the vibe is much...

We were driving for few days from Sweden with our van 🚐 and stopped nearby to meet a friend, after a long day of driving we came across with this place on maps and decided to have a look. It was the best thing of our trip! The place is so peaceful and beautiful, feels very cozy and a warm atmosphere. The service was perfect and the food delicious! Good idea for a weekend afternoon. Nice area to relax in, especially with the golf options. Restaurant is nice. The waiter seemed however annoyed (not just by us but by everyone). Good food. A bit pricy in my opinion. Pott's beer is however absolutely excellent. All in all a good and recommendable experience. We were a bit sad that there are no more ostriches on...
