Hotel Landgasthof Frankenstern — Restaurant in Gößweinstein

My husband and I stopped here in June 2017 on our way to Karlovy Vary. We were so impressed with the quality of service and beautiful clean rooms and utterly delicious food, we decided to take my parents in Sept 2017 when they came for a visit from the USA. The visit with my parents in September was not as good. My parents and I felt targeted as foreigners. Although during the June 2017 visited we paid with an EC card, for the Sept visit we were told they do not accept EC cards and the bill needed to be paid in cash. Additionally this information was relayed to us directly after dinner and in front of the other hotel guests. It was quite embarrassing and We felt targeted as foreigners. We were so insulted I had my husband call them and explain how rude that behaviour was and to ask why suddenly we were not allowed to pay with a card. Needless to say, my family and I will not go back to this hotel even though their Horseradish schnitzel is to die for. Leider muss ich meine 5 Sterne Bewertung überarbeiten und gründlich verändern. Im Jahr 2022 ging der erste Koch im Sommer und das Essen und die Portionen waren danach noch sehr gut. Ende 2022/Anfang 2023 hat sich dann auch der zweite Stammkoch verabschiedet und mit dem neuem Küchenpersonal hat sich vieles verändert.

Irgendwie versucht man etwas auf gehobene Küche zu machen, was aber für "Behringersmühle" zu abgehoben ist. Das Brunchen hatte sich dann erledigt da wie eben angegeben nicht mehr wirklich Buffetauswahl in einigen Bereichen vorhanden war, sondern vorgefertigte Portionen (Salat als Beispiel)

Wir hatten dort immer gerne Schnitzel oder Cordon-Blue gegessen und auch öfter mal abgeholt (Hatte sich wegen der kurzen Strecke rentiert) Abholen ist dort aber genauso teuer wie essen im Restaurant, was andere Gastronomen besser machen!!! Man spart sich ja das Personal für Abwasch usw.

Leider wurden die Portionen immer kleiner, so hat man also künstlich die Preise erhöht. Am 19.06.2023 lief dann wohl wirklich eine "Verarschung" ab. Wir waren zu im Restaurant und bestellten fast wie immer Schnitzel wenn es kein Cordon Blue gab. Die Portionen waren nur noch halb so groß wie sonst. Der Hammer war, dass am Nebentisch eine Dame auch Schnitzel gegessen hatte und da waren doch wie sonst zwei Schnitzel drauf also so wie sonst üblich. So kann man die Bewohner aus Behringersmühle auch vergraulen und die aus Gößweinstein gleich mit. (spricht sich herum)

Anstatt dann aber auf die Reklamation einzugehen, ist man beleidigt und fordert den Partner auf das Firmenauto nicht mehr am Hotelparkplatz abzustellen. Ist OK, es gibt ja auch andere Parkplätze und ab November sowieso eine Garage. Aber anstatt auch dies persönlich zu klären wird es "voll Umweltfreundlich" einlaminiert und an die Windschutzscheibe angebracht. Ein absolutes Armutszeugnis.

Vielleicht wären wir nochmals in die Gastwirtschaft gekommen wenn etwas Zeit vergangen ist, aber nun kann man nur jeden empfehlen den Berg nach Gößweinstein auf sich zu nehmen und dort zu Speisen. Dort sind die Preise ebenfalls in Ordnung und die Portionen noch in einer vernünftigen Größe vorhanden.

Schade, dass man einfach nicht Kritikfähig ist und dies auch noch so nach außen zeigt.
