My recent visit to Berggasthof Almhütte was an absolute delight! Nestled amidst the stunning scenery of Garmisch-Partenkirchen, the restaurant offered a truly idyllic setting. The panoramic views of the Wettersteingebirge, including the iconic Zugspitze, were simply breathtaking. As the sun was out during our visit in February we used the sun exposed terrace and enjoyed a relaxing break. We were welcomed by the friendly serving lady. She took our order and offered later on a treat to our dog 🐶 He was of course delighted. The traditional decor was charming, and the staff was friendly and attentive. Now, let's talk about the food! Berggasthof Almhütte is known for its delicious Bavarian cuisine, and I am sure that you will certainly not be disappointed. The menu offered a variety of tempting options, but I couldn't resist trying their famous windbeutel. These giant cream puffs were light, fluffy, and absolutely divine. I have chosen the Schwarzwald Windbeutel with cherries, a billion of calories but delicious 😋 and worth it! Overall, my experience at Berggasthof Almhütte was fantastic. The combination of stunning views, delicious food, and a warm atmosphere made for a truly memorable visit. I highly recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for a delightful dining experience in Garmisch-Partenkirchen

Located on a beautiful alpine meadow overlooking Garmisch-Partenkirchen the Alm Hutte is a must for anyone visiting the local area. It's location is central to the Kramer plateau way, a popular hiking destination in the Garmisch area. The spacious terrace offers stunning views of the Zugspitz mountain group, the Wetter stein mountain group as well as the Kramer making for the perfect place to enjoy a quiet drink or a traditional Bavarian meal. But don't forget to try their signature desert the windbeutel. These cream filled pastries, big enough for two have made the Alm Hutte not only popular with the tourists but the locals as well. In short great views, great food and drink reasonably priced, family friendly and easily accessible by car or by foot.

Very nice location. Definitely recommended. The waiter was very kind and everything arrived very quickly. The only thing I have to say is that it is fairly pricey. 4.4€ for one big water (0.75l). That was a bit rough but you probably pay extra because of the environment surrounding the restaurant. There is a playground for kids. It is an excellent way to hike and get some good cake and good drinks.

With an unspoilt view of the mountains the location is idyllic. Heavy wood tables and chairs with lots of space for everyone to sit around and suitable for groups. We had a lovely meal here soaking up the local atmosphere. It was a pleasure to watch the two hard working waitresses carrying enormous trays of beer and food. Not easy work but to be admired when one has such skill. The food was memorable and we look forward to returning. We spent a couple of hours here but did not have long to wait for the arrival of the food. The earl grey tea was particularly good. Enough for two cups and full of citrus flavour. After 14:00hrs out came trays of Windbeutel but I had ordered the Zweibelrostbraten mit rost zweibeln schwenkkartoffel und salat. A lovely afternoon sat in the sunshine outside on...
