Sportsbar Gilching — Restaurant in Gilching

This is a nice burger-house/sports pub just off the beaten path; next to the sport fields. Plenty of free parking nearby. Very good burger! It was probably the best I've had so far in Germany and was almost a generous half pound in size. I would recommend splitting one with your friend or taking half home, for those with smaller stomachs. Lots of Jack Daniels memorabilia and Rolling stones stuff on the walls and shelves, however, sports is the main theme with some silly decorations. It was interesting and entertaining to see. Pay attention to what times you go there as there may be a sporting event that will come and fill the place up after the games. If you're a local, this is probably a great place to be during such times. As a foreigner, the staff will warn you about such events so you can plan your meal accordingly. Some of the staff may not speak much English, but with translation apps nowadays, this does not present too big of a hurdle. Seating arrangements are typical German Beer hall style, so don't expect much private seating during the busy times. I would recommend the Bacon Burger, as it was very delicious with not needing to add a thing. Also, if you're American, the Chili-poppers are exactly like Jack-in-the-Box Jalapeno poppers, delicious! Habe heute zum 1. Mal nach dem erfolgtem Pächterwechsel die Gaststätte ausprobiert. Service und Bedienung sind freundlich und zuvorkommend. Im Biergarten sitzen ist angenehm. Zum Essen- bei mir gab es paniertes Schnitzel mit Pommes und Salat. Ob das Schnitt eine Pfanne gesehen hat ist fraglich. Die Panade war farblos, weich und klebrig. Auf die Frage ob alles in Ordnung war habe ich angemerkt das es so weit in Ordnung war aber es auch gut gewesen wäre wenn das Schnitzel auch eine Pfanne gesehen hätte und nicht nur eine Mikrowelle. Darauf hin ist dann die Pächterin gekommen und hat sich versucht zu rechtfertigen das Schnitzel wäre in der Pfanne mit viel Butter gebraten worden und wenn ich es nicht glaube könnte ich auch die Küche anschauen. Wir waren gestern als Gast in der Sportsbar und sind begeistert. Eine sehr geschmackvoll und mit viel Liebe eingerichtete Bar in der man viele Ausstellungsstücke bewundern kann. Das Wirtspaar ist sehr nett und zuvorkommend, man hat das Gefühl schon ein jahrelanger Gast zu sein. Die Speisekarte lässt keine Wünsche offen, es hat phantastisch geschmeckt.
