Restaurant La Fontanina — Restaurant in Gilching

I travelled from Italy to Germany for a work transfer at DLR Obferf. for 2 weeks. During this time, I ate at different restaurants (in Munich centre and around), but when I discovered "La Fontanina", I appreciated a lot the quality of the food, the quantity of each course, the kindness of the owner, the professionalism of waiters. To highlight the quality/price ratio is very high. I am talking as Italian, and I know if an Italian Course is correctly served or not. In addition, "La Fontanina" proposes a large menu, but each week, a given selection of courses is offered at lower price with respect to the base price, so it is possible of getting special courses at very low prices, without losing the quality of the Italian food. Furthermore, if you take a first course like Spaghetti, you also receives an additional soup or salad for free, like you prefer. All the staff was kind and available for any request. I also appreciated the wines and beers selection. On next transfer, I will know where to eat :)

Grazie davvero, sono orgoglioso che esistono ristoratori italiani che rendono merito alla cucina Italiana all'estero. Ci tornerò sicuramente!!!

UPDATE On the last visit on 2022, the quality was not as the one I found on my previous travel. I was suprised mainly on the final cost, because the waiter gave us a menu in German language (even he knew that we were Italian) as a flying sheet and there was a price on main and on second courses. When we went to pay, the costs were higher than the ones expected and reported on the sheet. The waiter explained us that on the sheet several sentences (in German and we did not speak German) said that the costs observed were only valid at lunch (not for dinner). For dinner another menu was applied. So my doubt; why for a dinner did he give me a menu with several costs when this was not valid for dinner... mmmm? This was not gentle for me. Furthermore, the quality was lower than the one on my first visit, I do not know why. Concluding, La Fontanina is for me a medium-quality restaurant, valid for a lunch some times. But for an ordinary restaurant, where you can eat with higher frequency, I would like to...

Sehr schönes Restaurant, Die Pizza war sehr gut, genau mein Geschmack, so wie ich sie aus Italien kenne. Wenn ich mich dann noch so umgesehen habe, an den anderen Tischen fand ich das das die Portionen groß und sehr gut ausgeschaut haben. Kritik muss ich auch üben und die wäre bei so einen schönen Italiener sollte das Öl das am Tisch steht einigermaßen gut sein (Olivenöl) es gibt gute und günstige Öle, das was da am Tisch stand roch leicht ranzig und war in keinen Fall ein Olivenöl im besten Fall war es ein Sonnenblumen Öl, also bitte nachbessern. Die Fläschchen könnten auch ein wenig mehr gepflegt sein die sind sehr klebrig. Was noch sehr schade war, das Carpaccio ich würde sagen das war das schlechtes was ich bis jetzt gegessen habe, wässrig, grau und Geschmacklos auch hier kein gutes Öl drauf sehr schade wenn man bedenkt wie gut...

Very good Italian restaurant. Pretty big variety of food and drinks. Very nice and large portions at reasonable prices. The service was also quick and the staff was very friendly...they catered to our special requests while preparing our order. Both indoor and outdoor...
