Rohlfs Bäckerei Konditorei GmbH — Restaurant in Hamburg

Just been here (a little late in the day about 17pm) for a coffee and a piece of cake. The quality of the food is standard, nothing speacial, so 4 stars for that.

After being to a few bakeries around Hamburg and experiencing terrible customer service ( and I mean TERRIBLE ), we've decided to try this one.

As we walked in, a lady behind the counter asked us if we knew what we wanted. I replied asking to give us a minute. I translated a few things for my hubby as he only speaks English. The lady heard us speaking English and as I started ordering, she kindly tried to speak English to my hubby.

She was very polite and patient. Then her younger colleague came to help her and served us with the rest of our order speaking perfect English while being very polite and smiling away :)

Not that I expect these people to speak English, I do try and speak German, even if somethimes it's a little hard, but hey the customer service that we received from these two ladies was outstanding and definitely deserves 5 stars.

If only every place that sells something here in Germany was like that, how much more would they sell ( I've often refused to go into a bakery so I din't have to experience someone treating me like I'm nothing while...

Innerhalb von 5 Monaten in diesem Jahr war ich 3 x in dieser Bäckerei, um Kaffee zu trinken und Brötchen zu essen. Halbe Brötchen gibt es hier nicht. Es werden immer nur ganze Brötchen zum Preis von 2,60 € angeboten. Was mich entsetzte, war, dass ich 1 x nur alten angestandenen, schlecht schmeckenden Kaffee aus der Kanne erhielt und 3 x gesagt wurde, dass Sandwiches oder belegte Brötchen nicht mehr verfügbar seien. Das stimmte nicht, denn Brötchen ohne Belag lagen sichtbar im Regal aus. Das gleiche passierte mit Kaffee, der auch 2 x nicht verfügbar war. Meine schriftlichen Reklamationen hatten interessante Antworten zur Folge. Als ich das dritte Mal per Mail reklamierte, kam als Antwort, weitere Reklamationen hätten nicht vorgelegen. Als ich dann nochmals Kopien mit Eingangsbestätigung übersandte, kam als letzte Antwort in diesem Monat:" Ich verdiene mein Geld mit Backen und nicht mit Schreiben!" Sparen Sie sich also jegliche Reklamationen, denn hier sind sie sinnlos. Ach ja, der Kuchen schmeckte...

Das Personal ist total nett und freundlich, die Auswahl an der Theke super, nur sitzen und Kaffee trinken kann man nur noch, wenn man auch auf hohen Barhockern sitzen kann. Da mir dies unmöglich ist und scheinbar auch vielen, vor allem älteren Menschen, anderen Leuten, fällt der Kaffee eben aus. Es sitzen auch nicht mehr so viele Gäste wie früher dort. Normale Tische und Stühle gibt es nur noch draußen und da will bei diesem Wetter ja keiner mehr...
