Visited on a Saturday entering @1330 for lunch. Immediately seated inside by a woman who pointed to the dining area. We sat there 15 minutes watching staff rushing back and forth between kitchen and the outside seating area literally walking by our table each time. Staff were visibly stressed as they ignored us. I mean, really IGNORED us. We have no menus, no drinks no further acknowledgement since seating.
After we were seated 15 minutes, another couple were seated next to us. That couple immediate got menus and placed an order. We are still without and I tried to get the waitress' attention but she was too quick for me to stop her.
30 minutes into our visit and more rushing staff back and forth, drinks and food were delivered to couple next to us and we haven't seen a menu yet. I was upset and reached over to the waitress serving and tapped her arm three times quickly. She looked at me in shock and I told her we hadn't seen a menu yet. Waitress mumbled something and left. I wanted to tell her we were seated before neighboring couple but its not their fault so I didn't. That couple had noticing the staffing ignoring us but what could they do?
The other waitress who pointed out seating came with English menus and dropped them on the table as she rushed by us. Nothing was said.
40 minutes into our visit we placed drink and pizza orders. Throughout the 40 minutes we watched a family of 5 with baby pram were seated and got drinks. Next to them were two young couples of backpackers were seated and IGNORED. We were discussing what to do about it as it appeared to be clear bias against us and the backpackers when they suddenly asked for our orders.
Drinks came quickly and gruffly but it was 60 minutes into our visit when our pizzas finally arrived. There was no offer of parmigiana, additional drinks or other condiments. We asked for hot chili oil but the brought salad oils and vinegar. OK - they don't have it but that was strange.
The backpackers left. They had not received any menus or anything else. Staff said nothing as they exited.
We ate our pizza and I noticed the family of 5 with pram had to grab a waitress too. All this while the place is steadily emptying out. We were done by 1½ hours into our experience and the staff never asked if we liked our meals and never asked if additional drinks were wanted. A cook came from the kitchen and took our empty plates from us and sat them on table beside us. That was odd too.
About the pizza. Me: Othello. She: Quattro Formaggi. Crust was too thick and doughy in places. Toppings were OK but the sauce tasted sweeter that tomato sauce should taste.
1 hour 40 minutes and we got the bill. Waitress wants payment now. I am perturbed. I get out the cash and I'm scratching about my pockets for exact change. I am €.02 (That's 2 cents!) short - asked my wife to check her purse and waitress sighs "thats ok" and rushes off without any other comment.
We left without any staff saying anything further. This is as we walked past the bar to get to the door and staff conversing amongst themselves. What an experience! We...
Read moreAs a family always going out to explore new and local places to eat we actually stumbled upon Tina’s Pizzeria and we are glad we did. It is very and quaint which is something we enjoyed. We showed up around 1730 (only ones at fist) and we are glad we did because around 1800 the restaurant was filled. We have two l.o so we choose to sit in the back and it was plenty of room for families gathering for a meal. We are still working on our German but we’re able to communicate still with our English Menus that we were offered. The food was good and the atmosphere was wonderful. My daughters especially enjoyed their little candy treat that was given to them at the end of our meals. Thank you for a wonderful family night out and we will...
