I convinced my husband to do a quick stopover at Dinzler yesterday even though we were in a rush to get home. When we arrived, we were surprised to see a full parking lot which probably meant they serving at full capacity. But what we witnessed afterwards was even more disturbing. Downstairs, at the self-service counter was a man, presumably the manager, servicing customers with his mask hanging over his chin, talking over beverages and cakes waiting to be picked up. All other staff behind the counter had their masks on properly (kudos to them!) - except for this one man! Seeing him interact at close proximity with his staff made the entire experience doubly uncomfortable. We could see that one of his staff always leaned back whenever this manager approached him too closely. So, obviously we were not the only ones who felt uncomfortable with this chin-hanging-mask wearer. We love supporting local businesses but knowing what we all know now about the corona-pandemic and how important it is to be vigilant about keeping our masks on, especially in indoor places and eateries, I feel obligated to leave a review here. Managers/ supervisors/ owners should never be exempted from the hygiene rules. Even though Dinzler has great food and otherwise great service, they should make sure all of their supervisors & managers lead by example.
*EDIT to Dinzler's reply: I appreciate your prompt attention. To answer your question: No, the manager did not have a clear mask on. The manager met the hygiene rules of having a mask on (it was white) but it was pulled down to his chin. Dinzler was very packed on Sunday which is more reason to observe proper mask wearing rules. And by the way, I get it. It's difficult to report on managers - especially if he is a cool chap. The point is, not covering his nose or mouth while being so close to food and drinks and while working in close proximity with employees during a pandemic -...
Read moreUnfortunately a very disappointing experience. We live about 50 minutes from here and decided to try it for breakfast since it has been recommended in various sources. We arrived around 9:10 and immediately got seated (without reservations). The waitress came and took our drinks order promptly. Once we got our drinks (also quickly) we ordered our food. Around this time the two tables next to us got seated. Food was taking a while and then we noticed that the tables next to us are getting their food already (in a chaotic manner...One table got drinks from the other table and not everyone at the same table got their food at the same time). Our waitress came to our table and asks if we decided what we wanted to eat (this is now 45 minutes after we arrived). We mentioned that we already ordered from here and that we don't have that much time anymore. She admits she must have forgotten to put the order in. We then wait another 10 minutes and another server comes and asks us if we want to order food. We explained the situation and she then just says OK and leaves. We wait another 5 minutes and still no food. At this point we tell our waitress that we will pay for our drinks and leave. She just looked at us and went to some other tables to take their orders, gets cutlery for other tables and seems to ignore us. Just as my wife and I get up to go up front to pay our food arrives. We go to the front and ask to pay. The waitress then says that it doesn't work like this here, asking what she meant, she clarifies that we need to not be in such a hurry.
Considering this place is at a rest stop near one of the busiest Autobahns in Germany I don't think expecting customers to wait around an hour to get some Müsli and eggs is appropriate.
A real shame, the asthetics are great and if the food is as good as the drinks it would probably make...
Read moreLiterally the WORST experience I have ever had! My husband and I came for breakfast on a Sunday morning, was seated immediately, no problem. The server was new I guess because she was extremely disorganized and mixed up table numbers. We got our coffee and ordered our food shortly afterwards. All the other tables around us got served their breakfasts, albeit not all people at the tables got their food at the same time, wrong drink orders, etc. The server then comes up to us and asks if we are ordering food! We tell her that we ordered food FROM HER a while ago!!! Oh yeah, she never put the order in...Lovely. We wait some more. Another server comes to take our coffee cups and asks us if we ordered food....We explain that we are STILL WAITING, now an hour! The first girl comes up and says that there is just too much to do, too many tables. We tell her that if the food doesn't come in the next five minutes then we are leaving, my husband has a flight to catch. Five minutes pass, we get up to leave....Then the food comes. We leave it on the table and go pay for our drinks. The server then has the gall to say "well it's not my fault if you are in a hurry"!!!
We traveled two hours to visit this place. Two freaking hours and get this kind of treatment! I will never never...
