Sometimes the best meals are the ones you don’t see coming. We were just out for a lakeside stroll, no hunger, no plan – and then we passed this place. Glanced at the menu, felt a tingle of curiosity, and thought: If this tastes half as good as it reads, we’re in for something. Spoiler: it did. Actually, it smashed expectations. My Vesper platter? Massive. A glorious spread of local meats, cheeses, spreads and pickled delights – the kind of board you order thinking you’ll nibble, and then find yourself in a committed relationship with. A Bavarian love letter to cold cuts and craftsmanship. My mother’s Tafelspitz soup – a traditional beef broth made from boiled prime cuts – was the kind of dish you nod to after every spoonful. No fuss, just deep, soulful flavor. But the real game-changer? My partner’s burrata salad with barley, wild garlic cream and beetroot mousse. Her words – not mine – “probably the best salad I’ve had in the past year.” And honestly? She might be underselling it. This wasn’t just salad. This was art. We shared a Kaiserschmarrn to round things off – fluffy torn pancakes, caramelized and served with powdered sugar and fruit compote. Textbook good. And then came the bill: around €80 for everything, including drinks, a great espresso and a refreshing peppermint tea. At Lake Starnberg. That’s not a receipt – that’s a small miracle. We genuinely can’t wrap our heads around why this place isn’t blowing up on every food blog. The kitchen? On point. The service? Sharp and warm. No wait time, no sloppiness, no corner-cutting. Just fresh, thoughtful cooking in a low-key lakeside spot. We’re already plotting our return. You should too.

This Biergarten with Restaurant is probably the best one at Lake Starnberg. I tell you why. The place itself is great! Sitting under a umbrella because of the sun on hard wood chairs looking at the lake is a gift for you. On the left and right you’ve got trees but in the middle a place next to the the lake where we played football with #Bigfoot & #Littlefeet - before sunset. Food - we all took Schnitzel with Bratkartoffeln and a separate salad - was ok. It’s not great but also no desaster. Seriously the place is great for the weekend, especially sundays when you are searching for a quite good and amazing place.

Absolutely the best food I’ve ever had! The flavors were beyond words, and I can’t recommend it enough—you have to visit and experience it for yourself. The service was outstanding, with a warm and welcoming staff who made us feel right at home. The cozy atmosphere was perfect, and the stunning lake view made the whole experience even better. They are incredibly friendly with kids, which is a big plus. If you're a vegetarian, you’ll find plenty of options, but be sure to try the Guincho—it’s a must! Can’t wait to come back.

Agree with the previous low rates reviews. Very grumpy service. All the meals were bad, overpriced and tasted like frozen food, and basic or saturated in premade sauces. The waitress took the order wrong and instead of taking the incorrect beer back that no one ordered, she made a scene and therefore we had to keep an extra nonalcoholic drink that no one wanted and pay for it. Food took over an hour. The table next to us came after, had their food come shortly after and they left as we finally got our food. Of the 5 dishes, no one was pleased with the food. Salad was 20€ which was only lettuce and mushrooms...
