The food here was very good. We didn't have a reservation but were able to be seated as long as we were gone before the table was reserved. I would recommend having a reservation before coming here to ensure seating is available--the place filled up rather quickly once they opened for business. I had a mushroom cheeseburger. It was HUGE. Two normal people could eat this hamburger and come away full. This is one of the few places I've found that have an American-style hamburger that actually is like the hamburgers that are serves in the U.S. The bun was a standard German bun (not bad) but this was the only real difference. The fries were also thick cut and they brought out ketchup and mayo instead of giving a single packet as is normal in Europe. The cheese noodles (a German specialty) were also good, and very filling. My wife had to take 1/2 her portion home because she couldn't finish them. They are not exactly made in the traditional German fashion but rather have a restaurant-specific twist. Ok, this place is incredible. We came in for dinner while the world cup was on TV, and our main goal was to experience German culture outside of the typical touristy towns and cities. We were not disappointed; the hosts were incredibly warm and informative of the menu, the food was spectacular, we ate a schnitzel and a pork roast that was the best in the region. Wir waren uns nicht schlüssig ob grüner Baum in Kelsterbach oder Mainterrasse in Maintal. Die Mutter meines Freundes wollte unbedingt zum Stefan Essen gehen. Somit sind wir vier in die Mainterrasse. Alle Coronavorschriften werden konsequent umgesetzt und wir fühlten uns gut aufgehoben. Die Karte klassisch mit dem gewissen Kick den es braucht um das auch ein Essen was man Zuhause zubereitet etwas besonderes ist. Kürbiscremesuppe als Vorspeise war reichlich, lecker und leicht scharf. Danach das Cord en Bleu, mit schmelzigem Käse der beim schneiden raus lief, Bratkartoffeln und Salat, alles sehr gut. Mein Freund hatte es ebenfalls. Es war kein nachwürzen bei allen Gerichten notwendig. Mit meiner Frau teilte wir uns noch das Tartar. Absolut frisch und ein must have. Mit Sardellen, Kapern usw. einfach ein Traum. Mein Kumpel hattest auch und war sehr zufrieden. Seine Mutter hatte keine Vorspeise da Sie von den Tellern wusste und eh nie alles schaft. Sie hatte sich für das Egerländer Schnitzel entschieden. Ein Schnitzel blieb übrig, von der Sosse fehlte jede Spur. Meine Frau hatte den Zwiebel Braten mit Spitzkohl. Die Sosse und der Kohl ein Traum. Das Fleisch war schmackhaft zubereitet, durfte probieren. Die drei Klöße schafte Sie nicht komplett. Der Service war freundlich und kam mehrfach an den Tisch. Wir fühlten uns richtig wohl. Auffällig war das viele Gäste ihr Essen abholten und der Fahrer mehrmals losfuhr. Es war wieder einmal ein schöner Sonntag wobei wir durch den Regen auf einen Spaziergang am Main verzichteten.
