LSC Restaurant — Restaurant in Meckenbeuren

As flight crew, we often rely on airport restaurants during short layovers. Unfortunately, this was one of the most unwelcoming experiences I’ve had. We were told the restaurant was “full” and not accepting any more guests, yet it was very clear that less than a third of the tables were actually occupied.

It was disappointing not only because of the lack of transparency but also because we were turned away while on duty, when efficiency and proper service matter most. At an airport, where staff should be accustomed to accommodating travelers and crew, such treatment is simply unacceptable.

If the restaurant had a genuine reason for refusing service, it could have been communicated politely and honestly. Instead, it felt dismissive and unprofessional. Definitely not the level of service one expects at an...

The rudest waiter we have ever experienced. Asked to order our food while sitting outside...Waiter said no order until we moved inside....we asked if we could order and then move inside once the food was ready....he walked away without answering. We left the restaurant and went into town and ate outside at an amazing Italian Restaurant on the waterfront,which had fantastic food and staff that were pleasant. Zunächst: das Ambiente ist stilvoll eingerichtet und der Ausblick auf den Hangar und die Lande/Startbahnen kurzweilig. Draußen ist es immer etwas zugig und laut (logischerweise). Es gibt zwei originelle Sitzplatzgruppen, die mit dem ausgemusterten Zeppelininterieur ein Blickfang sind. Wenn man mit Wickelkind kommt, sucht man vergeblich nach einem Wickelplatz. Dem Service ist dies herzlich egal- hier bekommt man keine weitere Hilfe.

Das Essen ist grundsätzlich gut, auch wenn es im Vergleich zu früher nachgelassen hat. Das Angusrindsteak wurde gefühlt vor der Pfanne sicherheitshalber nochmal erlegt, da es ein Dutzend tiefe Schnitte auf der Oberfläche trug. Es verlor dadurch erheblich an Fleischsaft. Speisen vom Angebot (Bavette mit Muscheln) waren leider nicht verfügbar. Das alternative Angebot der Servicekraft war mit Alkohol (Spaghetti Meeresfrüchte mit Weißwein abgelöscht). Auf die Nachfrage, ob dies auch ohne Weißwein ginge, kam ein knappes „No“ und die Speisekarte wurde einem hingeknallt. Da blieb es bei mir bei der Vorspeise. In der einfachen Nachspeise des Kindes (3 Kugeln Eis) fanden sich im Vanilleeis Plastikstücke- sprich ungenießbar. Als wir dies beim Kellner erwähnten, gab es eine knappe Entschuldigung- er gebe es weiter. Gezahlt haben wir dennoch den vollen Preis! Hier hätte ich mir deutlich mehr...
