Bauernhofcafé — Restaurant in Morbach

Fantastic little, picturesque cafe in the Hunsrueck hinterland. A perfect place to visit for lunch, an early dinner ( kitchen closes at 18:00 during spring), and a well earned rest after a local hike. The staff is super friendly, the self baked cakes worth a visit all by themselves. The vegetarian, vegan, and traditional meaty " flame cakes" ( Flammkuchen ) , an ultra thin pizza , are all delicious beyond expectations. Do try them. The outside area offers vast play areas for children, secluded pagodas, cloister-style vegetable gardens, tree alleys, fun bronze figurines, and a meadow with the occasional sheep close-by. One of the finest places in the area, and believe it, we've tried a few. Part of a working farm, the café-restaurant has been decorated with a keen eye on detail, down to the Villeroy & Boch porcelain. They serve simple but honest rural produce with subtle refinement. Have a slice of farm bread with ham, house-made patisserie, pancakes, or their latte with full cream milk that is just to die for. Very nice place. Quiet and living at the same time. Located in the middle of the countryside you can enjoy a piece of pie/cake, fresh ice cream, coffee and tea, quality beer (not the cheap dishwasher water stuff) and complete meals.

For children is a corner with toys as well as a stable where they can look and pet animals (under parental supervision OF COURSE).
