Quellenpavillon — Restaurant in Nahe-Glan

Fantastic food, lovely location but everything else not so great. We went at 18:15 for a nice dinner with our 2 little kids thinking it would maybe be a slightly longer wait (30-45min) as it was busy. But even though we actively had to ask first about even ordering then about whether they’d forgotten about us, it still took 1 hour 15 min until we were finally served. 19:41 to start dinner is not ok, especially not with kids. When commenting about the long wait, I was informed they were busy and had big groups and I should have just asked how long it would take. The table next to us was celebrating a bday (and spending quite a lot) and got a free bottle as a gift. It was my bday also and I didn’t expect much, but especially as they made our family evening very difficult with the extremely long wait (I have never in my life waited 1.5 hours for fries, nuggets, schnitzel, oven potato and salad!!!); they didn’t even apologize or say happy birthday or offer a glass of wine on the house. All these little gestures would’ve been a professional and normal way to deal with such an unpleasant situation, but instead it was then my fault - silly me, I should have asked!

Then when we had already gone we realized they didn’t even have the right prices on the bill: one euro extra per glass of wine (5,50 instead of 4,50) - normally I wouldn’t think twice about it, now I’m even more annoyed at this completely disorganized place. This is our favorite pizza in Germany. We love eating here and the food is delicious. It's so peaceful to sit in the park. They indoor seating as well as outdoor seating.. They also have an English menu if you need it. Friendly staff and great service. They will let you stay as long as you like or you can eat and leave quickly, it's up to you. Wir waren sehr enttäuscht von unserem Besuch in diesem Restaurant. Obwohl keinerlei Hinweise darauf zu finden waren, hatten wir bereits beim Eintreffen das Gefühl, dass Kinder unerwünscht sind. Die Atmosphäre war von Anfang an unangenehm, wir fühlten uns mit unseren Kindern nicht willkommen – im Gegenteil : Das Personal wirkte genervt und ließ es uns deutlich spüren.

In einem öffentlichen Lokal, das keine Altersbeschränkung ausweist, ein solches Verhalten an den Tag zu legen, ist für uns völlig inakzeptabel. Familienfreundlichkeit sieht anders aus. Wer Kinder grundsätzlich ablehnt, sollte das klar kommunizieren – am besten schon auf der Website oder einem großen Schild an der Tür.

Weiter ist negativ aufgefallen, dass zwar Kartenzahlung grundsätzlich möglich ist, diese aber ganz offensichtlich nicht erwünscht ist. Man wird mehr oder weniger direkt dazu gedrängt, bar zu bezahlen – das wirkt in der heutigen Zeit nicht nur unzeitgemäß, sondern auch kundenunfreundlich. Wer Wert auf moderne Zahlungsmethoden legt, ist hier leider nicht gut aufgehoben.
