I stayed at this hotel for 3 nights and had 2 different rooms for reasons that aren’t relevant here. The first night I stayed in a single room. The price was I think 100 Euros. This was a basic, small room; one tiny bar of soap, no shampoo or other bath amenities and a blow dryer. The bed seemed narrower than a regular twin, but then I haven’t slept in a twin for years. There is one pillow, one bath towel and one small towel. The room is small! Smaller than my dorm room, but if all you are interested in is sleeping than you’ll be fine. The bathroom is also very small but again, it functions fine and there is a TV and a hotel provided tablet. ||||The second two nights I was moved to a double room. (Not because of complaints BTW). This was much better for sleeping as the bed was larger and I had two pillows. (I’m sure if I had requested it, I could have gotten a second pillow for the single room.). The bathroom was about the same size, but over all this room was nicer because it was clearly updated, with new flooring and no stepping up into the bathroom . I slept much better in the double room.||||I am no longer a budget traveler, but if I were, this hotel would more than meet my needs. The staff was very helpful and they have a lovely outdoor patio and sell beer, wine and mixed drinks. There is also a very extensive breakfast. Finally, I think this hotel is ideally located. It is walkable from the train station, and the bus stops right outside. It sits on the edge of the pedestrian center and is only a 5 or so minute walk to the old town. There are numerous restaurants in the area as well. And if you need to do laundry, it’s only a 5 minute walk from the hotel. I would spring the extra $ for a double but if you cannot afford that, the single will be fine and you will be nicely set up to...

Read moreJust back from a few nights at the Hofwirt and can honestly say, this is one of the nicest hotels I have stayed in.|From the very start, they could not do enough for us; we arrived 2 hours ahead of check in time just wanting to drop our bags off and they allowed us into our room early, which was really helpful. They supplied us with a map of the city, explained where some of the attractions were and offered bus/tour information if we needed it. All of the Hofwirt staff were friendly, polite and helpful.|Our room was spotlessly clean, with comfy beds, soap and shower gel provided, free good wifi & tv, easy opening windows and plenty of storage space for luggage & clothes.|Breakfast was served in an enormous room between 6.30am-10.30am on ground floor and was never too busy. Plenty of choice for breakfast, to suit all tastes and it was kept very well stocked. You could also choose to eat outside, on the terrace area, if you wanted to.|Tea was available anytime in the lounge area on a 'help yourself' basis. Coffee could be purchased as well as bar drinks at any time in this area also. There were books to read and a small area for children to play. |On checking out, we were allowed to leave our bags in the baggage storage room and use the lounge facilities before leaving.|There is a taxi rank outside the hotel and a bus stop just up the road.|The hotel is city central and most sights are within walking distance. There are plenty of local bars, cafes and restaurants in the locality.||Only negative was no 'English' tv stations available - this didn't bother me but some people might expect it.||Thanks Hofwirt - I will...
