We reserved a table for tonight. When we arrived, the waiter led us to a table with a dirty tablecloth without napkins or cutlery prepared. Disappointing, seeing that we had reserved!
The food was below average. I had lamb, which didn't taste fresh (probably frozen lamb) and the other dinner guests with me also found their meals lacklustre and flavourless. Might I add that my wife is Indian and she cooks much better than this. Plus, we pay a fraction of what gets charged at this establishment. The nan bread was partially moist (soft dough) and the chef (or whoever) placed huge chunky vegetable pieces in all the mains. In one there was an entire onion. Rough chopping would be an exaggeration.
Now on to the actual spices. For an Indian restaurant, they don't know their spices. My wife's meal just tasted of chilli. What happened to the wonderful masalas? My dish simply had a tomato base. More like a spicy pasta sauce.
While we were eating, the waiter cleared away the flowers & re-did the tablecloths, as if they had closed already and we were inconveniencing them. (Officially they close 2hrs later!) Unfortunately, our experience was terrible and we never felt welcome! This is no value for...
Read moreWe came here for lunch with relatives who are regular customers, and I can see why. A nicely appointed restaurant just outside the town centre, behind the old Avon factory site. The greeting was warm and friendly, our drinks order was taken as soon as we had settled at the table, we all chose the lassa, a mango or salt flavoured yoghurt drink, which were delicious. Our food order was taken when our drinks were served. We had a selection from the lunch menu, and it wasn't long before the food arrived. The aromas were mouth watering and the food tasted just as good. I had the mixed tandoori, the other half had the lamb Madras, our guests had the cashew chicken and the lamb tikka, a large bowl of rice was served for us to share. All of which were fantastic. I've eaten many Indian meals in my time, and without a doubt this ranks as one...
Read moreWe went there by chance, as friends made a reservation for this restaurant. We see the Friends not so often. We liked the ambiente, the service was a bit over attentive. Meals were good cooked. Me for my part I was happy with the Chicken soup and Palak Chana with Onion Kulcha which was the best choice for me the evening dinner a wonderful and good taste. The beef chili of my husband was not so spicy and chili hot so he was quite disappointed but he liked the veggie kulcha a lot. The both friends have had meat dishes and were quite happy with that, 4 in one and mixed meat plate. We were mostly talking with friends so I forgot to take some pictures....
