Landgasthof Jägerstübchen — Restaurant in Neustadt an der Weinstraße

Not sure how we managed to book such a wonderful place but I am glad we did. The room was beautiful with a really nice bathroom and a powerful shower. When we arrived the place was closed but we telephoned the number on the door and someone came straight to meet us. As soon as they saw we were on a motorcycle they opened the garage and cleared a space for us to put it in. The restaurant at the hotel was closed on a Monday night but we were shown the way to their weinhaus which also had a restaurant. It was only 150 yards away and a pleasant stroll. We sat outside and had fantastic views of the vineyards. We were given a selection of their own wines to try before making a choice of which to have with our meal. From the moment we arrived, we were welcomed and had our bags carried to our room which was spacious and spotless. The view from the balcony was lovely, overlooking a large magnolia tree, fish pond and the castle on the hill. The shower was very good with lots of hooks in the bathroom, something often lacking in other hotels. We enjoyed a meal in the restaurant in the evening as did many others who were not staying at the guesthouse. Breakfast was wonderful with freshly cooked eggs and a vast variety of other foods.
