Restaurant Schleßelmann — Restaurant in Rellingen

Not really a tourist destination, Rellingen is a very quaint village twenty minutes from the Hamburg airport just off the Autobahn 23. The Rellinger Hof is a traditional German hotel located in the city center--adjacent to the Rellinger Kirche, a beautiful old church--comprised of the main hotel and several single story buildings with additional rooms just across the street.||||Our room was in one of the buildings across the street, where there was also free parking for guests. The room was simple, but spacious. The bathroom was ample size and clean, but there was no bath--only a shower. Even though we were adjacent to the street, the room was very quiet.||||A very filling breakfast was included in the rate, and was served in a banquet room to the left of the hotel check-in desk. Spent only 1 night there. The city does not have too many things to offer, only the church what is worth visiting.||The hotel is split among several single-story buildings with rooms on both side of the street, so I had to cross the street for the breakfast. The staff were helpful, and friendly.||Parking was easy like the check in. Wi-fi didn’t work in the room but after asking for it somebody fixed within an hour or so. Im Rahmen einer Feier gab es eine reduzierte Karte. Was kann bei einer Currywurst mit Pommes schon schiefgehen, dachte ich mir. Vor allem bei einem stolzen Preis von 11,90€ sind die Erwartungen einigermaßen hoch gesteckt. Wie sich rausstellte, war die Küche mit diesem einfachen Gericht doch arg überfordert. Auf Nachfrage gab es keine Mayonnaise, die Pommes waren so labberig, dass man Zweifel daran haben konnte, dass diese jemals überhaupt eine Friteuse auch nur aus der Ferne gesehen haben. (Damit man eine bessere Vorstellung hat: die Konsistenz kam der von aufgetauten TK Pommes nahe) Gleiches Bild bei einer weiteren Person, die ebenfalls Currywurst bestellt hatte. Nachdem die Bedienung darüber informiert wurde, ging sie in die Küche, kam bald wieder und bot neue Pommes an. Das würde dann allerdings etwas dauern. Bis dahin war ersten meine Wurst schon halb aufgegessen und zweitens würde diese nach 5-10 Minuten Vorbereitungszeit für die neuen Pommes mit Sicherheit kalt sein. Ich habe dann dankend mit Hinweis auf diesen Umstand abgelehnt. Es gab weder einen Preisnachlass noch sowas wie ein Freigetränk. Optionen für ein Angebot außer Pommes nachmachen und kalte Wurst wären auf jeden Fall vorhanden gewesen. Das bekommt nach meiner Erfahrung jede Kantine und jeder Imbiss besser hin. Für die Zukunft: Finger weg; ich gehe lieber ins Steak House gegenüber, da gibt's für das gleiche Geld...
