Interieur No. 253 — Restaurant in Remagen

It's probably the worst meal that I've had in the 10 years I've lived in Bonn. My 3rd visit to the restaurant (the others, the food and service were great). The service was glacial (both in speed and temperature!), i had the calamari starter, which was, without any doubt, the worst calamari I have ever eaten, you had to ask for the wine to be placed in an ice bucket, which was then eventually done and placed so far out-of-reach and left there until all 4 glasses were completely empty, before being grudgingly filled, etc., etc. My wife ordered mussels and was served clams, half of which were still closed, so they should not have been allowed to leave the kitchen. If the chef and the staff were trying to deliberately sabotage the restaurant, they could not have...

The view is beautiful but the service is iffy. One of the servers was quite rude while another was lovely. There were many opportunities for the staff to seat us while we waited around uncomfortably unsure of where to sit only to get yelled when seated that we should have waited to be seated. Visited with Germans who found the service unacceptable which I found very amusing.

We got espresso machiattos which were pretty good with the world's tiniest cookies. The drink of the person who ordered first arrived last and not with that...

The food, whilst not bad, was overpriced for the portion size, especially the risotto. The service was below average; not what you might expect in a place that charges €100 for three small main courses, a bottle of water, a coffee, and a small bottle of beer. At a table for three, when we asked for bread (we weren't offered any, even though they brought side plates when we sat down), the rather surly waiter brought us a small paper bag containing two small pieces of baguette, and dropped /threw it on the table.
