Pension Jägerwinkl is nice little pension in middle of brewery village of Rettenberg in Allgäu. Rooms are pretty big (especially for this low priced hotels) and modern, with radio, free wireless internet, but no TV. We needed really early breakfast, which was not possible to arrange down in restaurant, but they went way above what I would expect them to do, and they brought all food into our room, including coffee machine! It's family run with two generations showing warm hospitality. Its quiet central village location, next to the church, is a good base from which to wander out, perhaps to sample the local beers at the breweries' own establishments. The hotel has its own wood panelled Italian restaurant (the family originates from there) and this is a convivial meeting place for locals. The area is a revelation to the first time visitor and this in itself is a very...
