China Restaurant Royal Pavillon — Restaurant in Schönefeld

The place is clean, has a nice deco, you can also tell it’s new, the food was fresh and the staff was overall friendly.

For an all you can eat, the quality of the food was good. Given the prices I was expecting either less variety or a lower quality but that line was pretty fair. Greatly surprised with the quality to be honest. Sauces and meats were cooked deliciously good, not too salty and not too sweet or spicy, just the right point. I like them a bit spicier but for a buffet where you have to target everyone it was the right point.

Staff were friendly, I was welcomed with a smile and was taken to my table.

After confirming the price of the buffet I was asked what I wanted for a drink, I kindly declined and proceed to serve myself. After returning to my seat I was then told it was imperative to order a drink and after declining for the second time I was once again forced to get one, and then a fourth time, so I finally did because the waitress was pretty insistent, I was tired of not being able to eat my food calmly and I believe she was just following the rules.

At the end and after asking another waiter, I was told that in fact, the buffet comes with a drink that must be paid separately.

Please, correct me if I’m wrong, but I did not find anything in regards of a drink consumption that must be purchased on top of the buffet fee in the menu or online, because if that is the case then I’d change this review.

It’s a shame, I thought I had found the spot for my remaining days in Germany given that I would have enjoyed it way more and would have returned given that there are not many food venues in this part of the city.

After all I wouldn’t come back there given that while the food was good I don’t appreciate establishments that...

Vor Jahren war dieses Restaurant schon angekündigt, dann kam Corona und was auch immer noch für Herausforderungen und nun, endlich am 10.02.23, war es endlich soweit. Jahrelang haben wir auf die Eröffnung gewartet, da wir fußläufig entfernt wohnten. Inzwischen sind wir umgezogen, aber wir haben es uns nicht nehmen lassen, aus dem 20 min entfernten Rotberg vorbeizuschauen und sind positiv überrascht. Außen zwei goldene Statuen, die schon etwas hermachen. Kommt man in das Restaurant steht man im Eingangsbereich mit Couch und Sesseln, der einem das Warten auf weitere Verwandte/Bekannte/Freunde wirklich leicht macht. Tolle Idee. Hervorzuheben ist die nette, junge Frau am Empfang/Eingang. Sehr freundlich. Wir wurden sehr, sehr nett willkommen geheißen. Sie hat uns das Restaurant gezeigt, auch dass es separate Räumlichkeiten für 5, 10 oder 30 Personen mit runden Tischen gibt, wenn man einmal unter sich sein möchte. Ich war überrascht, wie groß das Restaurant ist. Das Buffet ließ bei uns keine Wünsche übrig, von Sushi, Pommes, Süßkartoffelpommes, Huhn, Ente, Fisch, Suppen bis hin zu Kuchen, Obst, Softeis...Ich persönlich würde auch noch normal gebratenes Huhn mit dunkler Soße mit Bambus, Morcheln usw. nehmen, vielleicht kommt das ja auch noch. Muss aber nicht... Ich finde, alles da. Man kann sich auch Frisches separat braten lassen (Huhn, Fisch, aber auch Hai, Känguruh...). Highlight: Ein Roboter fährt die gebratenen Produkte allein an den Tisch. Das Display hat ein Katzendesign, er spricht und bittet darum, durchgelassen zu werden, wenn der Weg versperrt ist. Er sagt an, welches Gericht (Nr) gerade geliefert wird, dann nimmt man sich den Teller herunter und drückt "Fertig" auf dem Display. Der Roboter wünscht guten Appetit und fährt wieder los. Supertoll, gerade auch für Kinder :-) Aber ich glaube, der ist nur am WE und in der Woche abends "im Dienst"...Sehr aufmerksame Mitarbeiter*innen! Ein Gast hat versehentlich einen Teller fallen lassen. Der Mitarbeiter hat als Erstes geschaut, ob der Gast sich verletzt hat und sich um ihn gesorgt. Fand ich wirklich toll. Als wir gingen hat uns die nette Mitarbeiterin am Eingang noch freundlich gefragt, wie es uns gefallen hat, ob es geschmeckt hat und unsere Tochter bekam noch einen Lolli. Fazit: Toll, machen Sie weiter so! Schön, dass Sie die ganzen Jahre durchgehalten haben und tatsächlich noch eröffnen konnten. Wir freuen uns! Ich hoffe, Sie haben ganz viel Erfolg und bleiben uns in Schönefeld ganz lange erhalten!

NACHTRAG: Wir waren gestern, am 25.07.23, noch einmal dort. Zum Mittagsbuffet. Leider war die nette Dame vom ersten Mal nicht mehr am Eingang, sondern zwei anderen Damen, die uns mit Nichtachtung straften. Sie unterhielten sich in ihrer Sprache und wir waren nicht mal einen Blick wert. Eigentlich wollten wir schon gehen, nun waren wir aber schon mal da...Es stand ein Schild dort, auf dem um Geduld gebeten wurde, da wir platziert werden würden. Wir geduldeten uns ein paar Minuten und fragten dann, ob wir hier vielleicht essen dürften...Es kam keine Entschuldigung, sondern ein genervtes, "ja, gehen Sie doch durch". Unglaublich! Das Essen war in Ordnung, der Kellner am Tisch wenigstens freundlich, das kleine Becken, in dem die Fische schwimmen, ist noch immer nicht beleuchtet und sieht nach wie vor nach Baustelle aus. Es gab auch keine Nachfrage mehr zum Abschied am Ausgang, ob alles ok war oder einen Lolli für unsere Tochter. Wie beim ersten Mal. Anscheinend muss die Tochter der Geschäftsführung am Eingang sein, sonst braucht man nicht hingehen. Also wir kommen nun nicht mehr wieder. Das war leider sehr enttäuschend, gerade beim Hinblick auf unseren...

We went to the weekend buffet today. We liked the food but the deserts were not good. The worst, however, was the dishonest and rude staff. When we first sat, we ordered drinks, after 3 hours, a waiter came to our table and with a straight face, said that we had to order drinks or else we should leave. There werent any disclaimer which stated that after a certain time we must order drinks so we were confused. After a waitress came to get the bill and when we told her about this she said that they were expecting 70 people and that is the reason that we have to leave. The place is huge and wasnt crowded, it could easily hold another 170 people. The two different reasons they gave us to make us leave didnt make sense. I was confused because their reasoning was inconsistent and clearly dishonest. The first waiter came off as very unfriendly too. Never coming...
