Gaststätte Grünling — Restaurant in Templin

On the whole a pleasant experience. We hadn‘t booked in advance on a Friday lunchtime, so we were placed in the beer garden. It seems to be quite a popular place a bit beyond its heyday. But alright for a piece of GDR nostalgia - the prices are really up to date, though. Our waitress was very eager to please everyone around trying her best. The drinks were served well chilled and quickly, but then we had to wait for more than half an hour for the food. Quantity: OK, quality a bit above average. The so called pork steak (!) was beyond ‘well done’- I wonder what people call a steak in those places. Anyway, I didn’t need any more...

POSITIVE The interior Lovely, friendly and distinguished waitresses Friendly towards kids (e.g. offering a kids menu with coloring pencils)

NEGATIVE The food - unless you are after super heavy, all fried, no greens, German cuisine. It is uninspiring I had one of the worst Schnitzels I remember (and this is Germany we are talking about). Earlier in the day we were at the Thermal Spa and the schnitzel at the local kiosk was the same,...

Came with a group of 8 and found a table within two minutes. Waitress was friendly, offered menus, and took our order efficiently. Everyone got their food in about 30 minutes, all arriving within 5-7 minutes of each other which was impressive.

Plenty of food - typical German style, fatty and delicious. Quick payment process, you can pay by card but need to go to the counter.
