Pizzeria Da Massimo — Restaurant in Trier

On a cold November day, this restaurant managed to put a little bit of Italy in my heart and my stomach.

Had a bit of time to kill in Trier and since lunch time was approaching with rapid steps, the choice seemed kinda obvious; go find a place to eat.

This pizzeria is certainly not one I'd come across on my usual trips to Trier as it's located far from the inner city. But never one to shy away from trying something new, this would do.

Waitress was very nice and friendly and quickly directed to a available table.

I settled for a salad (small) and a pizza (large) with pepperoni, onion, Gorgonzola and pickled chilies.

The salad was big for a small. I dare not thing of the jungle that would've greeted me had I ordered a large. It was a good, basic salad. Fresh, but with the apparent problem of most places in winter, impossible to get a decent tomato.

Service was quick and as soon as I had finished my starter, a very large and steaming hot pizza made its way to the table.

Now, for the price of 12,50€ this was a very good pizza. I'm a big eater, but today I was not able to finish it. I even got offered a digestive afterwards, which I always a nice touch.

Local restaurant in the Eurener Str. area in Trier . Restaurant is open on Sunday , which is a certainly a bonus for them , especially since so many other places are closed on this day . However, this makes the place extremely busy .

Did not have a reservation but that was not a big problem. Hostess was able to seat me in five minutes quickly . They were majorly busy .

Menu is extensive and perhaps a bit too long with multiple (unnecessary) options to choose from .

I started with a crostini mozzarella and prosciutto as an appetizer and a red wine carafe. Wine was good . Crostini was ok, nothing extraordinary.

Main course I chose a tomato & beef strips pasta dish topped with arugula. Nice to see you can modify your choice of pasta, so i decided to get tortellini. Portion is huge and very filling ; I could not completely finish the entire plate . I enjoyed this dish .

Service was okay despite being super busy , the lady helping me was good and prompt .

I think I will be back again for sure to give them another try but not on a Sunday as the noise and atmosphere for my personal preference...

Ein solides Restaurant. Die Örtlichkeit ist wirklich hübsch, hat Flair. Nicht zu laute Musik und da sich das Restaurant auf mehrere Räume aufteilt, ist der Lärmpegel wirklich human und man kann sich ohne Probleme unterhalten.

Der Service war zu beginn sehr schnell. Wartezeiten auf Trinken, Vorspeise und Essen waren super kurz. Die wirklich kurze Zeit wurde dann noch durch Baguette und Oliven überbrückt. Das Essen kam für alle Personen gleichzeitig. Das ist wirklich top! (ungewöhnlich bei völlig verschiedenen Gerichten) Als es später wurde, kam der Kellner seltener vorbei, aber dies war immer noch im Rahmen.

Die Preis für Softdrinks sind angemessen. Viertel Rotwein unter 5 Euro auch. Die Karte ist wirklich groß, das heißt man hat eine rießíge Auswahl. Ob das notwendig ist, weiss ich nicht. Als Vorspeise hatte ich 6? Weinbergschnecken, passendes Werkzeug. richtiger gar Grad. Nicht zu viel Knoblauch. Schöne Schneckenhäuser, kein SAND! definitiv einwandfrei! P/L gut. (8?euro ) Weitere Vorspeise: Bruschetta auf Pizzaboden. Nette Interpretation. Größe / Preisverhältnis gut. Geschmack ok. Crostini, sah gut aus. Menge passend. Ja wieso nicht? Hauptspeisen: Gnochi quattro formaggi: Portion genau richtig(für manche vll etwas zuviel), ich wurde satt. Die Sauce war super. Die Gnochi haben gut geschmeckt! Ich war mit meinem Gericht äußerst zufrieden! Weitere Speisen: Salat mit Joghurt Dressing? (Gurken??) Das Dressing schmeckt gekauf, keine Freudensprünge. Tortellini "BOSCAIOLA". Sah super aus. Schien geschmeckt zu haben. Die "große" Pizza für etwa 10 Euro ist sehr preiswert. Groß -- RIESIG, hing über den Tellerrand hinaus (Viel Teig + Tomatensauce, Belag reichlich (nicht schön angerichtet)) Die Pizzen sind mmn etwas optimierungsbedürftig. Größe Reduzieren, Geschmack etwas optimieren. Wenn die Pizza 5cm weniger Durchmesser hätte, wäre sie viel hübscher und wäre auch leichter zu essen. (Es wurde an unserem Tisch keine Pizza komplett gegessen, einpacken und mitnehmen war kein Problem. aber soll das so sein?????)

Espresso war lecker, klassischer Kaffeetropfen, (Wer mehr will, Dupio bestellen). Latte sah lecker aus.

Zur Rechnung gabs eine Runde brennenden Sambuca, leider nicht der beste (aufs Haus, was will ein Gast mehr?) An unserem Tisch wurden alle satt (Bedürfnis gestillt). Die Rechnung war super. 24 Euro pro Pers.

Wieso 4 Sterne? Ich schwankte zwischen 3 und 4. Doch das gebotene war viel. Der Service war gut. Es war Sauber! Ich fands gut, daher 4.
