I had scalloped chicken in sweet and sour sauce. The meat was admittedly very tender and digestible, but as the only vegetable addition there were bean sprouts - that is simply too little. The sauce tasted, but the many artificial flavorings and preservatives are neither digestible nor healthy for the body. Since the sauce was the only seasoning, the rest was rather bland. The service reminded me more of barracks style canteen manners. The waitress not only forgot to ask us about the dessert that was included in the menu, but also made us wait for the bill.... It was my first time in this Chinese restaurant and it was a great experience. From the hostess at the entrance that placed us at a table, the ambience was very nice with dim light and beautiful decorations, an aquarium with fishes and turtles and the most important part, the food, was excellent We ordered fried duck with rice fried, soup for starter and a couple of drinks. The duck skin was crispy and very tasty, also the presentation of the plates (they bring a little kind of stove to the table to keep the dishes hot) the rice was cooked to perfection and the soup was rich and creamy After the meal we walked around the restaurant watching the aquarium with fishes in it. We have been a loyal guests at Shilton Restaurant since years, the food is fresh and tasty, not greasy. The lady boss greets guests with warm heart, people feel welcome and comfortable there. We like to bring our guests there because we know their food is always maintained in a good standard, no matter how busy they are. Service is also fast and friendly. Tables are well arranged so people feel private but can also enjoy the spacious atmosphere. One of the highlights is an open aquarium with plenty of turtles and fish to be observed underneath the mini landscape architecture. It is a family friendly restaurant for all kinds of purposes.
