I highly recommend this restaurant! Originally a Turkish restaurant (which I heard offer delicious food - just haven’t got the chance to taste them yet), but special for this August also serve Indonesian food (menu uploaded). This is because August is the month of independence of Indonesia.

I ate the legendary Soto Lamongan (finally found it in Stuttgart area! So happy 😁) which is honestly very tasty! I even finished the whole big portion. Soto has a bit of Jakarta touch - as the chef comes from Jakarta. As I came with a big group of friends - 10 people), I also tasted a bit of the other menu. Bubur ayam is also tasty and fulfilling.

What kinda surprises me is the rendang - for me tastes very similar to rendang Pagi Sore (if you’re a native Jakartan, you’d know). Also another interesting menu is “nasi rames teri medan” that uses teri Medan directly from Indonesia. So as a fellow Indonesian, I can vouch for its authenticity and tastiness! 😋

Now for the drinks: I was so surprised they serve “kunyit asem” for just 1€!! So cheap! Also have soda gembira which is a specialty also - consists of syrup, soda, and condensed milk! Highly recommended for its sweet and fresh taste! 6€ BUT for a huge 600 ml - quite a steal I would say!

If you’re a beginner to Indonesian food or curious, just ask about the ingredients and they will be happy to explain everything to you. Place is nice and clean (plus you can sit outside during summer season). All food are halal - so no worries for Moslems. Owners are super friendly, which is a plus point. But note they don’t accept cards - so prepare cash!

Muffiger Laden, ziemlich karge Ausstattung. Tische sind soweit sauber, unter den Tischen sieht es anders aus. Habe einen Yufka gegessen und einen Eistee getrunken. Der Yufkafladen wurde mit Mehl eingerieben, um es wohl etwas geschmeidiger zu machen - hatte dadurch aber Mehl überall an den Händen und im Gesicht und auch im Mund. Das Fleisch war mittelmäßig ok, das Gemüse hat irgendwie nach Putzlappen gerochen. Soße hat man quasi überhaupt nicht geschmeckt. Verkäufer hat mir den Yufka gerollt und dabei sind ihm Fleischstückchen heraus gefallen und auf der Theke gelandet (habe in der ganzen Zeit nicht gesehen, dass er die gewischt hat). Kurzerhand hat er das Fleisch wieder gegriffen und mir zurück in den Yufka geschmissen. Während ich das schreibe habe ich immer noch Mehl im Mund. Und zum krönenden Abschluss war der Eistee über das MHD. Ist mir erst aufgefallen, nach dem ich ihn probiert habe und er irgendwie abgestanden geschmeckt hat. Die Bude kriegt einen Stern, weil ich bisher noch nicht krank davon bin. Sollte das noch eintreten, korrigiere ich diesen Beitrag.
