First and foremost I have to cement the fact that the atmosphere and the service here is 5/5. Really really top notch. Wonderful staff that make you feel welcome and they’re just really nice and accommodating. They brought free ice cream and some kartoffelsalat for us as well during the meal.

However I have to stay true to reviewing the food and I must say it’s simply not good. It’s a buffet and of course a very cheap one, so I will also be fair but there were quite a few shortcomings.

As a whole, the buffet just looks a bit depressing. You have a meat, and fish option and the trays are 90% empty, at least they were when we were there. This also goes for the salad bar, where the salad juices were the only thing left. Nothing is regularly filled up as far as I can see.

I am not claiming that this is a high level of culinary experience but I must say that the quality is very low. The sauces are ok, but for example the breading of the schnitzel was literally crumbling off, the beans were mega overcooked and so was the potatoes. The fish was ok.

Den Tisch hatte ich reserviert für vier Personen eingedeckt waren nur zwei Plätze, alles nicht weiter tragisch. Gute bodenständige Küche in guter Qualität zu vernünftigen Preisen mit zuvorkommendem und freundlichem Service in einem historischen Gebäude - das vor ein paar Jahren recht aufwendig renoviert und modernisiert wurde. Leider für Vegetarier ein nur recht überschaubares Angebot.
