Hotel Traube am See GmbH — Restaurant in Verwaltungsgemeinschaft Friedrichshafen

I often stayed overnight in the Hoten Traube by the lake, out of a greenery that was typical of the area. The hotel is very nice and is a great place to stay.||There are parking spaces in the underground car park as well as outside. When I visited the hotel a part of it was just rebuilt, this should be finished now.||||The staff at the reception is very friendly and courteous. Everything was professionally done and explained to me.||||The rooms are very nice and sufficiently furnished. So there is no reason to complain here. Also the bed eats very comfortably. ||||The location of the hotel is great. You can take nice walks from there and you are also right at the lake.||||The breakfast is very tasty and there is a lot of choice. Here everybody will find something for sure. During my visit I often used room service. It is also competent, nice and fast. The extra costs for this are well within limits.||||There is also a wellness area which is located under the hotel. The wellness area is in my opinion very good. There are several saunas which you can use and a small swimming pool. There was always enough space available.||||The only negative thing that I do not include in this evaluation is the enclosed retsurant. Not because of the food, but simply because of the very unfriendly waiter (head waiter). I once ate alone in the restaurant and was treated by this waiter like a drop-out. He was simply unfriendly to me and in the end he did not want to give me a receipt for the food. Only after several times of...

I will be back here someday! Friendly, accommodating, friendly staff, fantastic restaurant (food price, quality and portion size!) and last but not least....AWESOME sauna!!! When I say AWESOME I mean it!! I have been to and experienced MANY saunas—and this one outshines them all...but first, other details.|I had a single room but it was very spacious and clean with a great rain shower and a small balcony.|The hotel is currently updating some areas but we didn’t encounter any construction noise, and the updates are fantastic! They’re adding a huge second pool and new rooms that look out on the water. (The Hotel is a block from the lake)|The breakfast buffet that is INCLUDED in your stay was well appointed and well stocked with fresh meats and cheeses, a plethora of breads, fruits and vegetables, and hot items. Coffee, teas, juices...etc...all delicious and fresh.|Now on to my favorite part....THE SAUNAS!|The hotel provides robes, slippers, and towels. No bathing suits or kids allowed—|The saunas include: a dry sauna that smells of lemongrass, a steam sauna that smells of eucalyptus, a HOT, dry sauna and THE MOST AMAZING cold-dip pool/waterfall and a stream that you can walk in that leads to a luke warm pool to cool yourself off that is open to the elements! I booked a room at the hotel website for the last two days of our summer-holidays. The most important thing for us was to have a balcony and the text description at the website and in the booking confirmation was: "Superior Zimmer mit gemütliches balkon" (superior room with cozy balcony) and the cost a little more than 200 euros per night. I was extremely disappointed and sad when I saw the room: the balcony was removed and was now part of a large construction area.Two chairs and a small table were placed on broken tiles with a large construction crane working above our heads. We asked for another room, but here was only one other room free in a lower category without balcony. This room was OK, although we missed the evenings on the balcony. ||The young people we met at the reception, in the bar and at breakfast were very friendly and helpful. The breakfast was delicious. However, the morning we were seated outside was very noisy with the construction work on one side and a very busy road with many trucks on the other side.||This may be a very nice hotel when the construction work has finished, but at the moment the rooms in the building near the work should not be used for hotel guests, and definitely not advertised to a high price and with the actual text descriptions.
