Pfälzer Hof — Restaurant in Walldorf

Unlike others who write reviews on reflection, I am penning this “live” as I sit here in a corner finishing my beer. This is as first hand account as you’ll ever get. Staff are amicable and accommodating, wouldn’t exactly call polite. The decor really needs work, wired hanging from the lamp shades everywhere. The wall paintings are amateur at best. Curtains terrible. Table cloth doesn’t cover the table entirely. It’s loud in here, better get a bunch of your own grunts (buddies) and make merry excitedly over soccer instead of expecting a quiet dinner. If you have come by yourself or an additional companion, don’t expect seats anywhere near the best the house can offer. Expect out of the way of other larger tables, in a corner. Ordered the pork platter. Mixed bag. Much is tough to eat. I heard from other reviews that people are unable to finish, now I know why. These guys really need to know how to make meat tender. The fries on the other hand, really good. Beer is standard quality of German appreciation. Service is slow, don’t know if it’s cuz it’s Saturday. While waiting they got me some salad, since it was about 40 mins waiting with me staring at the phone. They play the most boring Greek videos on TV you’ll ever find. Suggest you download some Netflix shows on your phone before you visit. Visit on a Sunday if you like to eat when the sun is up. Nevertheless i do notice that the staff are doing the best they visibly can, which I appreciate. They definitely are attentive. Sweet dish at the end is a nice touch. Now I must ask for the check and make my getaway. All in all, pretty fine for Greek food in general, best in Walldorf (no contenders).. but surely...

One of the best restaurants to eat in Waldorf. They have Greek specialities. We love the Greek detta. And the rumpsteak was delicious the meat is cooked just at the point, not overcooked and hard to eat or neathers with all blood visible. And the sauce was really good. For dessert they have some pastries with honey and cinnamon that they bring you when they are still hot, just fried. Fantastic. No very large restaurant but enough capacity for...

La Grecia in Germania...che sorpresa!! Piatti che rispettano la tradizione greca e reggerebbero il confronto con un ristorante in Grecia, davvero sorprendente la varietà del menù e la qualità in generale. Peccato l'ambientazione dall'aspetto un pò cheap, ma d'altronde è un tentativo di replicare l'osteria greca.. Consigliatissimo!!

Greece in Germany ... what a surprise !! Dishes that respect the Greek tradition and would stand comparison with a restaurant in Greece, truly amazing the variety of the menu and the quality in general. Too bad the setting looking a bit cheap, but then, is an attempt to replicate the Greek tavern .. Highly recommended !!
