WAM Burrito — Restaurant in Weiden in der Oberpfalz

Craving some really good Mexican food since I moved here, and WAM burrito doesn’t disappoint! I had the carne asada burrito, with lots of toppings including guacamole, and the burrito sauce with the perfect mix of spice. The ingredients and toppings are top notch, fresh, and great quality. forgot to take a picture because I was hungry, and it was soooo good! The owner, Wolfgang even had Jarritos and some homemade Horchata that I will have to try next time. Try this place next time you are in Weiden, you will be glad you did!

Update: So I had to go back a second time in two days because it was so good! This time I remembered to take pictures and try the house horchata. Got the carne asada burrito again with the Burrito sauce, and tried a side of cheese fries with the various sauces on the...

OK, this is for American expats in search of TexMex in Germany. WAM Burritos is not that. BUT, it is something much more interesting. If you take your memories of TexMex as a foundation and not as a constricting paradigm, you have the opportunity to experience something new. THAT is what this is.

The foundation of TexMex is an expectation of bold tastes and hearty texture. One bite into the WAM burrito or nachos provides both of those. However, if you let yourself move past your initial observation that this is not the burrito you expected, you will discover a different bold and hearty meal. I"ve gone about as far as words will take me. But, give this a try, keep an open mind. I expect that if, like me, you love TexMex, then you'll find a different place in your palate for WAM...

Muss zu Beginn ehrlicherweise zugeben, ich wusste nicht, dass es in Weiden diesen Mexikaner gibt. Meine Tochter hat mich aber zum Glück schlau gemacht und hierbei auch gleich vorgeschwärmt wie lecker das Essen war, als sie vor einigen Tagen selbst zum ersten mal dort war. Bin daraufhin gestern voller Vorfreude selbst zum ersten mal bei Wam Burrito eingekehrt, und um es gleich vorwegzunehmen, ich wurde nicht enttäuscht. Was beim betreten gleich ins Auge springt ist die sehr dekorative Einrichtung, natürlich alles im Mexiko- Style mit Kakteen, schöner Wanddeko etc., was für einen schönen Flair sorgt. Absolut freundlich und zuvorkommend ist das Personal, das einen auch mit Rat und Tat zur Seite steht bei der Auswahl und Zusammenstellung der Burritos. Nach einer kurzen Wartezeit, die Burritos werden frisch zubreitet, meinen allerersten Burrito verzehrt, den Chili Lime Chicken. Kann nur sagen, absolut lecker und man wird auch wirklich satt davon. Bin heute, nur einen Tag später zur Mittagszeit wieder aufgetaucht und mir zwei Burritos des Monats ,(es gibt jedes Monat eine Abstimmung auf Facebook wo der Burrito des Monats aus verschiedenen Vorschlägen gevotet werden kann) einpacken lassen zum Verzehr für daheim. Auch hier waren meine Tochter und ich absolut angetan. Der Burrito des Monats Juli ist übrigens der Breakfast Burrito mit Ei, Speck, Bohnen, Käse Country Potatoes, Gemüseauswahl, Chipotle BBQ Soße. Sehr, sehr lecker! Ich kann Wam Burrito mit guten Gewissen empfehlen, das Essen wird frisch zubereitet, schmeckt sehr lecker, das Ambiente ist schön und das Personal sehr nett. Volle Punktzahl von mir, auch weil es mal was anderes ist...
