FREDDO Espressobar — Restaurant in Wesel

In this business, if you do not value your customers, you need to think twice if you really want to excel in it! How just being nice could do wonders to one's image! Unfortunately, the guys n' gals at Freddo Wesel need to get some basic education in hospitality! They have a wonderful location, but lack in some commen courtesy. Before being there, I was literally their mouthpiece on how creative they were and how they could be even better. But on one such theme evening of theirs - pasta evening - they demonstrated thier amateuer status in this field. Firstly, we were not given our advanced reserved place in their backyard. Then they were also not that accomodating in moving a couple of chairs there to get us our place in the open. Even worse, they served instead of their specified spaghetti, and told ne as they brought it to our table! Not to mention, that none of the waiters managed to come to our table and ask us for the next round of drinks! All accepted and tolerated by me, thinking this could happen, and because I was a fan till then. But then, the unthinkable - pieces of glass in my food! On complaining, i was told that they would not charge me for my dish, and we would get a drinks (one round) on the house. This, by the way, was also promised to us in the beginning in not getting our reserved place. But then, the owner showed up and cancelled their promised round of drinks! In fact, the waiters brought it to the table and were asked to take it back! Seriously??!! I mean, that was the least they could have done for serving some good chunks of glass in my food.

I was disappointed, less because of the glass pieces in my food, but more because of the attitude of the owner. One good gesture shown would have won them a life-long customer, who already was multiplying the good word across the Weseler community. I decided not to complain yet to the health authorities (I still have the pieces of glass and 3 witnesses who took a film of our entire discussion post the 'glass-gate') being a firm believer in giving 2nd chances. Für Wesel eine absolute Bereicherung. Das Ambiente trifft man gewöhnlich in den Großstädten, wo es seit Jahren völlig etabliert ist. In Wesel erstmal Ungewohnt aber das ist kein negativer Ausdruck , sondern die Tatsache, positiv überrascht worden zu sein. Wie bereits von anderen Besuchern erwähnt, ist der Innenhof eine schöne Alternative, Gastronomie in Wesel anders zu (er)leben. Das Ambiente im Innenhof ist liebevoll gestaltet und absolut Zeitgemäß. Zu den getesteten Produkten: Der Cappuccino ist sehr lecker, das Frühstück kulinarisch ein Hochgenuss. Italienische Raffinessen, wie Trüffelsalami oder die Diavolo-Salami mit frischem Ciabatta und Pesto-Rosso, versetzen den Gast, direkt ins Urlaubs feeling. Das Preisleistungsverhältnis, angesichts der frischen Zutaten angemessen. Die gutaussehenden, stylisch aussehenden charmanten Herren an der Bar, überzeugen mit NowHow und Fachwissen, der hohen Kunst der KaffeeKultur. Nebenbei sei gesagt, dass Freitags und Samstags, das Café bis 22 Uhr geöffnet hat und diesbezüglich, nette Drinks wie Gin Tonic und andere Apretivos angeboten werden. Dies werden wir in jedem Fall noch testen. Inständig hoffend, dass sich das Konzept in Wesel etabliert und beständig bleibt. Dem heutigem Besucheransturm von Jung und Alt, beurteilend mache ich mir keine Sorgen....

Und wieder ein kleiner Ausflug auf der Suche nach einem leckeren Kaffee, von dem ich in gewohnter Art berichten möchte:

Service: Interessant traurig. Es war ein reines Frage Antwort Spiel, welches von meiner Seite ausging. Es drängte sich schnell der Eindruck auf zu stören. Sehr schade!

Ambiente: Neutraler Eindruck von Außen entwickelt sich zu einem guten Eindruck beim Eintreten und enttäuschend, wenn man die sanitären Anlagen betrachtet. Sehr schade, denn das Ambiente ist super schön und geschmackvoll gestaltet.

Essen: Auf Nachfrage war da leider nichts mehr da und so sah die Auslage auch aus. Sodass ich mir hier keinen Eindruck verschaffen konnte.

Cappuccino: Das beste an dem Besuch. Ein leckerer Cappuccino, nicht zu kräftig mit einem angenehmen Geschmack. Rangiert geschmacklich im mittleren- oberen Bereich wenn man es mit den bisher besuchten Cafés und Röstereien vergleicht.

Fazit: Wenn es nach dem Ambiente und dem Cappuccino gänge, gerne wieder. Alles andere motiviert mich eher dazu, dem Ort fern zu...
